Spinning Demon (奈落払い Naraku Barai?, lit. "Naraka Sweep"), also known as the Devil Spin or Hell Sweep, is Kazuya Mishima's version of Spinning Demon, used from the first Tekken onwards. Devil Kazuya and Angel also possesses this move since their introduction in Tekken 2.
This move was replaced with Illusive Demon in Tekken 8.
Description[]
Kazuya steps forward, crouches, and swings one leg in a wide, full circle sweep, hitting the opponent's ankles. He performs two of these sweeps consecutively.
From Tekken Tag Tournament, the first kick has a clean hit property when performed by itself, buffing the damage to 18 but requiring a clean hit to launch the opponent. If both kicks are performed however, the first kick's damage becomes 15 and will always launch the opponent. From Tekken Tag Tournament to Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection however, there is a just frame where inputting the second hit at the last possible frame causes the first hit to leave the opponent standing, while the second hit will launch them instead.[1] If a singular kick is blocked, the user will be stunned and at a heavy disadvantage. However, if both kicks are performed, there is no stun effect.
In Tekken 7, when used by the Boss Devil Kazuya in the Story Mode or in Treasure Battle, an additional sweep was added, making it similar to Heihachi's version of the move. Additionally, Devil Kazuya does not suffer any stagger stun when the attack is blocked.
Trivia[]
- From Tekken 5 and onwards, Kazuya can perform a single spinning demon sweep followed by a left hook.
- In Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Angel can perform a single spinning demon sweep followed by a left knee.
