Dot Branning, previously Cotton, was a resident of Albert Square who ran a launderette, and was an acquaintance of the Doctor. Biography[]
The Doctor was a regular visitor to Dot's laundrette on Albert Square. While the Eleventh Doctor was trying to drop off Dermot O'Leary at the National Television Awards, Dermot stepped out of the TARDIS onto the square in front of Dot. (TV: Dermot and the Doctor [+]Steven Moffat, ITV1 (2011).)
She once attended a Christmas dinner held by the Twelfth Doctor to lift the spirits of Sprout Boy. She was later seen pulling a Christmas cracker with the Doctor at the dinner table. During the Doctor's imprisonment in the Prison, Clara took one of Class 2A's art lessons. She asked the students to paint a placard with the phrase "SAVE THE DOCTOR", but instead they got confused and began to paint "SAVE DOT COTTON".
