The Smuggler's Den^[1] was located at a Vassa River crossing in Scanran territory.

It was where Nealan of Queenscove took Keladry of Mindelan to bargain with a smuggler and his mother to help them cross the river. Neal bought their passage for five gold nobles (first with three, then upping it two more when the smugglers' leader still refused), but it was the female smuggler who really urged her son to agree to their terms, having seen that Kel had the hand of fate on her. Her son agreed, but the five gold nobles were still not enough, as the leader still claimed that the Whisper Man would owe them a large favor for this.^[2]
