Friends

When I saw the Friends Challenge on Less is More, I knew I would use this new sentiment from Funny Bones - just love it. First time it is stamped so it will also be entered in the CAS-ology NBUS Challenge (Never Before Used Schtuff) and Darnell's NBUS Challenge. It's also the first time I've used the Unity ladies stamp, and the sketchy stamps from Papertrey Ink.

I will also enter this into the One Layer Simplicity Challenge of Opposites. My opposites are the solid stamp verses the light thin lined scribbles.

I'm also entering it to Uniko's Love and Friendship Challenge.

Hello Friend

One Layer Simplicity Challenge #9 : Hip to be Square.

A little bit of masking ...

I will also enter this into the NBUS Challenge #2 (Never-BeforeUsed Schtuff). Thank you Darnell for organising this .... I have way too many "virgin" stamps due to excessive one-line shopping!!! They arrive too fast that I I feel inundated. I think a moratorium on buying new stamps is in dire need!

Iris

I have had this Iris stamp for ages, but never got round to using it. But what better time, than for SPRING! And the Less is More : One Layer Spring Flower Challenge, and the One-Layer Simplicity : Just Add Water Challenge.

I used Distress Markers as my ink. To start off, I spritzed a bit too much water, but that gives a more artsy look. I added pearls to give a centre as it had lost the details, and some black lines.

I wasn't so happy about the mix of colours as I had used Seedless Preserves instead of Dusty Concord by mistake. So the next attempt was with the Dusty Concord and Shaded Lilac.

This time I thought there was not enough water on the petals! So third time lucky ...

By adding the words below the flower, I thought it would work well for the CASology : Roots Challenge too.

Which look do you prefer?

OLSC : Repeat that

Playing in the "new" One Layer Simplicity Challenge : Repeat that theme.

I used masking to give the impression of depth.

Merry & Bright

I have wanted to try use this stamp as holly ... and this is my first try.

For Karen's OLW Sparkle & Shine Challenge.

I stamped the houndstooth leaf in Colourbox Lime ink and embossed in sparkle embossing powder. Very difficult to catch with the camera, but it has a lovely shimmer.

Just add Water

Note : If you want a chance to win my 500th blog post giveaway pop on over and post a comment before midnight (EST) the 26th November.

Heather's OLW #167 Just add Water Challenge

I used markers on the stamps and spritzed with water. Didn't even reink the second time, just spritzed water again. Gives a paler imprint.

Christmas Joy

Making a Christmas card without using red or green for OLW Challenge, and the One Layer Challenge at Addicted to CAS.

I would have loved to use Magenta and Lime, but of course the latter is a shade of green.

So Silver, Magenta, Purple and Turquoise it is.

With some Frosted Lace stickles to add the shimmer.

OLW69 - Stripes

Love stripes and so took up the OLW (One Layer Wednesday) challenge from Julie at Styles Ink. I knew which stamp I wanted to use . . . but the mojo had different ideas and I came up with this instead.

It is a single candle stamp (so old I can't even remember where it's from - a cling with no details) and the sentiment from 2 different Hero Arts stamps.

Getting Triangular!

My submission for the OLW68 : Get triangular challenge on Susan's Simplicity Blog. This card didn't start out for this challenge. Just stamped the Merry Christmas (à la Susan), coloured it and gave it a shadow but then spotted the bird and added 2 of those! Both are Inkadinkadoo stamps.

So 3 stamped images, 3 blings, and a skewed triangle.

Quote inspiration for Julie's Smile

For the combined challenge of CAS-ual Fridays and Play Date Cafe's Operation Julie's SmileToday, I had the help of my friend, Bronwyn, who has the gift of mixing the right colours, I (I mean she) came up with pinks and oranges, still with Club Scrap Stamps  . . .

I love the quote and butterfly from the Unity Stamps, so had to use that too, in pinks and greens for my mother, with the flourish leaves from Club Scrap and tiny flowers from Hero Arts. This one was coloured using Copics so needed to layer it  . . .
and in radical purple and orange (thanks again Bronwyn!) using Prismacolour crayons . . .

OLW : Baby Card - Twins

My next door neighbour just had twins, so this was a timely challenge for me! The OLW challenge at Styles Ink this week is to make a card with a baby theme and there is a scrumptious assortment giveaway from A.Muse Studio.
Thanks to Judy, I found I could enter it for the Less is More (32) challenge of seeing double too!

And packets for the prezzies too . . . .

And close-ups . . .

OLW52 - Circles

I love circles and so was keen to do the OLW52 (One Layer Wednesday - circles) at Simplicity

Decided to highlight a circle of the image. (My new Inkadinkado stamp which I'm just loving!)

OLW51 - Three of a Kind

A lovely challenge from Jennifer's OLW this week. Make 3 cards using the same stamp. Got to love that!

First time I'm using this stamp from Inkadinkado, and one of the sentiment wordings of Club Scrap that I love  . . .  first card . . .

Second card I decided to use distress inks on a shadow stamp, and a line pattern (inspired by Susan) from Club Scrap - not as chic as hers, but one's got to use what one's got!

Thirdly, I love playing with the distress inks so kept going! Adding flourish from Stampin' Up and script writing from Paper Chain in South Africa.

I bought the swan stamp to be used for my blog header, and this challenge helped me bring it all together. Thanks for the comments.

Yellow OLW

A quick entry for the OLW Challenge at Simplicity. Use yellow on a One Layer Card. Inspired by the inside of  Jaemom's Card from the 90 minute scramble on Saturday.

One Layer Challenge 30

Here's the inspiration for my one layer card for the OLW30 challenge. Although this is a straight line, I thought of a leaping line.
