Kalima is a woman from Old Nayshall. She is a secondary character in Street Fighter 6: Days of the Eclipse, also appearing as an NPC in Street Fighter 6's World Tour mode. She is voiced by Laila Lakhani in English and Mariko Higashiuchi in Japanese.

Biography

Appearance

Kalima is a slender, dark-skinned woman with curly black hair that has streaks of white. On her neck is a red scarf with a black line pattern, and she wears a black short sleeve shirt and white jeans. She's usually calm and stoic, as she explains the goals of the Resistance or imparts assignments to the Avatar.

Days of the Eclipse

Kalima first appears as Johan Petrovich's secretary, helping his company work with Ken Masters to finance a tournament in her country of Old Nayshall, hoping that the tournament would gain international attention that would improve the lives of its impoverished citizens. However, she is horrified when terrorists interfere with the tournament and Ken is framed for the incident and his son Mel is taken hostage. Realizing that this incident does the opposite of what she'd hoped -- now painting the country of Nayshall as a populace of terrorists and criminals, she frees Ken Masters from his captivity so that he can save his son. Kalima herself confronts and stabs JP with a knife, but he is uninjured and knocks her unconscious with Psycho Power, taunting her with the fact that freeing Ken Masters has only helped his plans, and that he will allow Nayshall to continue to exist as long as it remains profitable.

World Tour

The Avatar encounters Kalima first during the Novice Cup tournament in Metro City alongside Rewancha as one of the finalists. She later reappears in Nayshall, where she is revealed as a high-ranking member of the Resistance.

Character Relationships

Allies

Ken

As JP's secretary, Kalima worked alongside Ken Masters to help set up the tournament in Nayshall. However, after Ken was framed, he initially blamed her for the setup, and didn't believe her when she denied involvement. She is the one who frees Ken from his captivity so that he can rescue Mel, although they are both ultimately unsuccessful at foiling JP's plans.

Rewancha

Kalima and Rewancha have an unspecified partnership as members of the Resistance; she appears to hold a higher position, as Rewancha tends to do as she says.

Bosch

Bosch is a fellow member of the Resistance, and Kalima at least seems to hold his wishes in enough regard to not get in his way.

Enemies

JP

Kalima worked as JP's secretary while he posed as "Johan Petrovich", and hoped that his efforts would bring international attention to help her impoverished people. Instead, JP exploited the country's sacred traditions and embroiled the entire country in a money-laundering scheme that paints the entire populace as a nation of criminals. During World Tour, Kalima has become a rebel doing whatever it takes to work against JP and free Nayshall from his influence.

Fighting Style

Kalima fights in an exact copy of Cammy's fighting style, including her normals, unique attacks, special moves and super arts.

Trivia

Her name is possibly a reference to Ma Kali (alternatively written as Kali Ma), the Hindu goddess of power and destruction. This would conform with other characters connected to Nayshall (such as Rudra and Chandi), who often have names derived from Hinduism.
