Trista Orlanis was a Human female with a slender build and black hair. She attended the University of Agamar and in 25 ABY accompanied Doctor Anki Pace on an archaeological dig to Bimmiel as a grad student. She developed an interest in Ganner Rhysode when he and Corran Horn arrived on Bimmiel.
During Corran and Ganner's rescue mission, Trista piloted the Dalliance and dropped a killscent bomb on the Yuuzhan Vong encampment to trigger a slashrat infestation, in the hopes that it would wipe out the Yuuzhan Vong slave and search operations. The mission was a success.
