The Rover was a HH-87 Starhopper belonging to the Devaronian Gev Hessan. After his death, the pilot Wedge Antilles used the ship to explore the Outer Rim Territories. Over Akiva, he was confronted by an Imperial-class Star Destroyer of the Galactic Empire. The Rover was constrained by the tractor beam of the Vigilance, once Imperial Admiral Rae Sloane saw the deception that Antilles claimed to be the presumed dead Hessan who flew the ship.[1]
Once inside Docking Bay 42, Antilles rigged the ship's proton torpedoes to explode. The destruction of the ship resulted in the death of various stormtroopers and allowing his escape into the Vigilance's ventilation ducts.[1]
