Progesterone was a type of chemical secreted by Human bodies. Males were unable to make testosterone without it, while females who were pregnant produced large amounts of this hormone. It was known to help repair brain damage.

When Omega Squad commando Fi Skirata was injured during a mission and was pronounced brain dead by medical droids, Jedi Knight Bardan Jusik healed him using the Force, stimulating Skirata's body to secrete large amounts of progesterone.
