Paus was a male Human journalist of the Galactic Republic living during the Cold War. In 3643 BBY he was residing on Coruscant and investigating the death of Rikael Lysannis, a member of the powerful family murdered by the Justicars' Brigade. Looking for a way to expose the Justicars, Paus asked a friendly passerby to recover the recording of Rikael's interrogation from one of the droids in the Justicars' Tower.
