Obrexta III was a cruiser that had been in service to the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Towards the end of the war, it was tasked with carrying the captured clone trooper Kix to Serenno. En route, it was attacked by Republic forces. A B1-series battle droid with the designation B1-CC14 decided they could not win, activated the emergency beacon, and took the ship to a random point in hyperspace.[1]
The cruiser subsequently crashed on the remote desert planet Ponemah Terminal in its dangerous south polar region. The wreck, with Kix still alive in his cryo-cycle stasis pod inside, would not be discovered for over five decades until an ionic storm reactivated the Obrexta III's distress beacon. As the starship had become legendary over the intervening years for carrying a treasure known to be of great value to Count Dooku, a race broke out among several pirate bands to be the first to claim the ship's cargo.[1]
