Jukkyuk was a Wookiee who was a member of the Path of the Open Hand cult[1] in 382 BBY.[2] He was retainer and guard of the The Herald, one of the Path's leaders, adept for the job due to the physical advantages of his Wookiee biology. He bore witness when one of the Path's other leaders, The Mother, unleashed a creature she called the Leveler that was a member of the Nameless species upon Jedi Master Zallah Macri and her Padawan Kevmo Zink, the latter of whom Jukkyuk had helped rescue from a flooded cave once before.[1] By the time of the Festival of Balance on Jedha, Jukkyuk had moved into the healing house on Jedha with the Mother.[3]
