Courataines were a sentient species of humanoids from a homeworld with lower than standard gravity.[1] Their bodies were wobbly-fleshed, resulting in them wearing exoskeletal travel suits when they traveled. On their homeworld, they breathed a very thin atmosphere; to simulate this offworld, they used respirators[2] built into their suits for comfort.[1] At some point between 2 BBY and 1 BBY,[3] a number of Courataines were present on the planet Bonadan at the same time that the smuggler Han Solo was there investigating an enslavement ring.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Courataines first appeared in Han Solo's Revenge, a 1979 novel written by Brian Daley as the second volume of the Star Wars: The Han Solo Adventures trilogy.[2]
