In order to show the Chiss species the advantage in droids, Soontir Fel and a group of engineers began designing a prototype droid fighter for the Chiss Ascendancy's space forces. The Chiss did not believe in the use of droids because of their slowness and vulnerability in combat situations, but during his time with them, Fel was determined to show them that droids were expendable, and being expendable was a great asset in battle, thus he and his team began designing this fighter.
