Ares Nune was a Force-sensitive individual who served as a Jedi Master within the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems.[2] In 22 BBY,[1] following the destruction of Republic fleets in a series of attacks from the Subjugator-class heavy cruiser Malevolence, Jedi General Plo Koon ordered Master Nune and a task force of three Venator-class Star Destroyers to locate and destroy the warship to prevent further losses.[2]
However, while traveling through[2] the Inner Rim Territories[3] Phu system, Nune and the task force were intercepted by the Malevolence. From there, Nune's transmissions were jammed by Grievous's dreadnought, who proceeded to bombard the task force, resulting in the Jedi Master's death alongside the Republic forces.[2]
