Dr. Sarah Gardner is a female Tau'ri archaeologist of British nationality; who had later served as an unwilling host to the Goa'uld Osiris.

Background information[]
Sarah was born in Colchester, England. After receiving an art history degree and a doctoral thesis from the University of Cambridge, Gardner moved to Chicago to pursue a PhD. in archaeology at the University of Chicago in the 1990s.
While at the university, she worked in researching ancient Egypt alongside her colleagues Dr. David Jordan, Dr. Steven Rayner and Dr. Daniel Jackson. She began a romantic relationship with Jackson, but broke off with him after he forgot their anniversary. (SG1: "The Curse", "Chimera") (RPG: "Living Gods: Stargate System Lords")
2000[]
Gardner, along with Jordan and Reyner, began to study the items of the Stewart expedition which were salvaged from the seas decades after they were sunk in 1931. She opened one of the items, the Osiris jar, which contained the sedated symbiote of the Goa'uld Osiris. When she opened the jar, she awoke the symbiote and he took her as his host. Osiris/Gardner managed to escape Earth aboard his ship. (SG1: "The Curse")
2003[]
In 2003, Osiris/Gardner came back to Earth upon hearing that Daniel Jackson had returned from his ascended state. He had previously discovered a tablet which he thought would lead him to the Lost City of the Ancients and, as Daniel had been ascended, he decided to use him to translate it. However, SG-1 eventually caught on to the plan, and Osiris was captured. The Tok'ra subsequently extracted Osiris from Gardner at Daniel Jackson's request. (SG1: "Chimera")
Gardner was debriefed by the SGC and then returned to civilian life. She chose not to join the Stargate Program, preferring to get away from the traumatic memories of her time as a host.
Two weeks after their capture, Sarah went to buy clothes with Dr. Janet Frasier, before going to eat in O'Neill's home. There, they found that SG-1 was captured by two young Jaffa, Ja'dok and Bikran, the Tel'tak's crew, who were searching for their master. They captured SG-1, but she, posing as Osiris, made them release them. His ruse was uncovered soon, and in the fight, both Jaffa were captured at his turn. (SG1: "Dude, Where's My Spaceship?")
2006[]
When Cameron Mitchell was investigating the murder of an archaeologist at Stargate Command, evidence emerged that someone had been creating forgeries of artefacts that had been analysed at the SGC and smuggling out the originals. With Daniel occupied offworld, he suggested that Mitchell call Sarah Gardner, as she had experience of tracking illegal sales of such artefacts. When Mitchell called Gardner, she confirmed that she wasn't aware of any such sales, pointing out that her personal experience meant that she paid particular attention to any artefacts that might be linked to the Goa'uld. Daniel called her later to confirm that they had determined that the artefacts were being sold offworld, but ultimately hung up as he and Sarah accepted that they had nothing further to say to each other.
