Just One More Snowman

Another 'Snowy' from PennyBlack, coloured in Promarkers and one of the last Christmas cards, I thought lost and then found again, forever hiden in the jumble of 'stuff' that fills my craft space, hall, living room, and the bed in the spare room!

Snowy was already coloured in his purple hat and scarf when I found him down the back of my bench. Spiders removed, I recoloured and resparkled him with silver and gold Stic
kles. He was already mounted on a scalloped diecut retangle. The ponsetti's were the last in a packet from years back, as was the bits of red mirror card and bakers swine. The snowflake was left over from another project, although this time it hasn't been embossed, it's just plain ol' paper. Both the Christmas papers (inside and out) were from 'The Works'. I like the way Snowy peeps around the extra bit of  topper, as though he'd been hiding, which when I think about it, he was! thank you for stopping by!  Hoping to find some....

peepo!

It's Snowy!

Well, it is! (Snowy) I haven't used Snowy for ages, and he is my favourite Penny Black Christmas Stamp. (which came all the way from America!)
Here he's been paper pieced using the same polka dot paper as the card, but printed out smaller. All the paper is from Pink Petticoat's Vintage Rose.
Yes, I know, I keep using it, but it's very pretty and easy to use for any occasion, so it appears! The little snow flakes fixed over the glitter snowflakes are actually buttons, with the backs snipped off, they were from the States too.

I took a few pictures as I made this card, just in case someone might want to know!
I printed out a small square of the polka dots and stamped over it. Then cut out the scarf and a bit of Snowy's hat and fixed
them over him. I coloured Snowy with Promakers (mainly blue!) Cut out the scalloped circle using Nesties, run it through the Bigshot in a cuttlebug Christmasy folder, then stamped it.
It doesn't matter if the stamp doesn't work too well (as all you want are the fiddly bits you've cut off.
I then fixed Snowy on the die cut using Pin-Flare glue, but any silicone glue or 3D foam pads will do the job and then added a bit of Stickles glitter.
The white ribbon I got from a local store. (none left now, the last scrap!!) That was put through one of those X shaped sticker makers. I always put another strip of ribbon through at the same time, so not to waste any of it. Meanwhile, I'd added a bit of paper frill, using my MS Punch and made some small tags as the other paper I've used has words on it. (especially for you) I also punched out, Snow Flakes, tiny flowers and ovals using Woodward punches.
The little stamped sentiment I bought over in USA last year as well, it was part of a set of 6 tiny clear stamps and cost $1 in Ben Franklin Crafts. (wish we had a craft shop like that!)
I've never used it til now and didn't want it to look too black, so just 'touched' the paper with it.
There is a few Challenges I spied while making this so I'm off to find my note book! Yes, I wrote them down,!
OSAAT's Challenge is to use Punches this week and this would fit, if I wasn't on the DT team. I did blog about it on Sunday, but it's still in draft (oops!) I might put it on later!! Meanwhile, opusgluei. has a blog hop... and that's linked here at the bottom too...so come and join in!!

Snowy's A Little Green

Here he is...A green Snowy, probably the last 'Snowy' Christmas card you'll see on here for ages and ages!! (Hooray! I can hear you say) I sent this card to my Sister-in-law, only it did have more embellishments on it but, as always, I can only find this picture of him. So you'll just have to imagine the velvet green ribbon and the swirling gems I added under the flower for a stem and the Merry Christmas signature. I also added more glitter to the papers, as I'd already used them on another card and wanted to make ithis one look a little different. That's it! Short and sweet! You're going!?? Yep!! I'm busy at the moment 'inventing' something!! A left handed coffee mug? A silent alarm clock? Self tightening sky hooks? (actually they'd be quite useful!) No! Don't be silly! Wait and see! Thanks for stopping by!!

I'm Seeing Pink Snowmen!

Like elephants, you don't often see a lot of pink snowmen unless the Margaretta's have been flowing! but I thought it might make a change as this is about my 50th 'Snowy' Card. Aren't you lucky I haven't posted them all on here! (There's still time!)
How are you all doing with your New Year Resolutions?? Well, don't worry about it, I only kept up one of mine from last year and that was to start a blog!! And 'da da!!' here it is!
My 'aim' this year is to do some Digi drawings and to try and do more challenges. Well, try and do them on the right day and the right challenge as I got a few muddled up last year!
Also...have you noticed? Well you would if you'd scrolled down to the bottom, I've now got over 19,000 hits. I know most of you have trillions more than that but wow! I can remember when I first put in the widget counter and telling hubby, 'I've gotta hit!' and he grinned and said, that was probably me!
Anyway, February will be my First Bloggaversary and March is my Birthday and April is me and John's Wedding Anniversary, soooo I think it's about time I thought of some more Followers Blog Candy don't you!! I'll see what I can do! Meanwhile, let's hear what your favourite 'can't do without' crafty thing is'
Back later...I think I've got one more green Snowy left.... bye for now.

And A Few More Christmas Cards

Sorry I know you're bored with Christmas Cards, but I haven't been able to post for ages as I've only really just got my craft room back to normal, not that you could ever describe my craft room as normal! This image of a very nice little girl carrying a heart bag was a freebie, I coloured with Promakers. I'll put the links in as soon as I can find her!! The paper was from my Stamping up winnings and Papermania 'Joyeux Noel'
Sorry for those of you who didn't get a card ~ I'm sure I sent them all out on time, but I did lose some cards when we did a bit of room swapping and I still haven't found them! So I made some more and then lost all the address's! What a flap I got myself into!! I couldn't remember who I'd posted to and who I hadn't! You see, over the Christmas we cleared everything out of our bedroom and turned it into a dinning room and nearly everything out of my craft room and turned that back into a bedroom. John got our girls bunk beds down from the attic (I always knew they'd come in handy!) The last time he did this, it was Emma's wedding and the bridesmaids slept in them! This time...it was me and John...I baggsied the top bunk until I realised how hard it was to get in and out of!!! It wasn't too good trust me! What with Ozzie and Missy my daughter's two kittens running all over us during the night, by the fourth night we'd both decided we HAD to have our own bed back, even if if meant sleeping out in the shed!!
Right, back to the cards!! These and some to follow, are all the ''quickie' cards, as I call them, as I'd lost the first patch I'd made, and I was fast running out of everything!! Card, paper, glue and time!! The little Penny Black card with the cat on the armchair..(just like home...the cat's always in the best chair!!) was the quickest card I'd ever made!! The actual pink dotty card is very small and was a freebie from a Crafty mag.
This Cheeky Snowman with the blue matching papers was a freebie. You'll find him over on GTC Crafty Corner. There's loads of lovely downloads for you to go and find. So pop over and have a look, don't forget to leave a lovely comment!!
If anyone recognizes their card let me know!! It's always nice to know they arrived okay!
More Christmas Cards to come....later! Thanks for stopping by!!

A Snowy Merry Xmas

It doesn't happened in threes in my house...it's usually closer to thirty-threes. The latest thing to go wrong after losing cards and not being able to re-find address's and then running out of decent sized blank cards is...the printer. I asked it to scan something, by pressing the appropriate button and it turned itself off and won't come on again! I've tried the usual things like pleading with it, bribery, pulling all the plugs out and putting them back again, checking the plug hadn't fused, all with help from Ozzie the little kitten but no joy! Luckily Missy, the other kitten is engrossed with the glitter ball sparkles hanging on the Christmas tree. There's hundreds of tiny glimmers of light reflecting all around the living room and she's trying to catch them! Anyway, no printer and of course having a printer is vital! (I'm thinking all my digi images and papers.) I haven't got to the sledge hammer stage yet but it's getting close! In this card I've used that Doodlebug paper again...I do like it! I've matted it onto green glitter card to add a bit of sparkle. The little stocking is a clear stamp from a set by Papermania I think, I'll pop back later and change that if it isn't and the wording is from a sheet of sticky letters by DoveCraft or Do-Craft...yes my craft room's in a mess as I'm in the middle of changing it back into a bedroom for Christmas and I can't find anything! Anyway, they're great letters, very easy when you need easy!(and I need easy at the moment!!) The only thing I would say is, there's not enough of the a's and e's. That's why there's a green 'Merry' and a red 'Xmas'.
I've entered this card into the PinkElephant's 'Christmas' Challenge, I've been blog hopping, and found some really nice Christmas cards!
That's it for now, oh 'Snowy' and his stocking were coloured in with Copic pens this time and there's a bit of Stickles glitter on his woolly hat and scarf. Back later to add more pictures and a few more cards. Thanks for stopping by. Have a grrrr-eat weekend!

Snowy's up for a Challenge

This is the very first card I've made using my new 'Snowy' Penny Black Stamp (which came all the way from USA, PB Stamps) and I thought I'd put him into The Penny Black Saturday Challenge but as usual, the week's flown by and I'm almost too late! So here he is! Go on Snowy, do your bit! No? Aw, he's shy! He was dancing across the table just a minute ago...or was that just in my imagination?
Anyway... moving on... this week there was a sketch to follow. I've used Papermania 'Joyeux Noel' papers, which I bought from The Range. Two of my McGill stacking square deckle punches, added a bit of Stickles Glitter. The Merry Christmas sentiment is a clear stamp (which I cut down a bit) that came free with the Do-crafts Creativity Magazine, along with a free Santa Daisy or it might have been Dandelion stamp, (not sure! ) which I haven't used yet. I think the Merry Christmas ribbon is from Do-Crafts as well. This time I used my Copic pens to colour in 'Snowy' . The actual card is a Bazzil Basics, Ruby Shoes cut down to about 6"x6" and everything else is from my stash! Wow that was quick!! Thank you for stopping by!! Sweet Dreams, or if you're reading this later, "Good Morning!"

Tom's Christmas Cards!

Friday evening we had a phone call from Tom. (son-in-law) wanting to check out my blog and asking how I made my 'Snowy' snowman cards with the acetate and the added snow flake stickers. I said there were some on the blog so he could 'check' them out. By ten o'clock that evening he'd sent us a picture of his finished card via his mobile phone!
He and Emma had gone to Hobby Craft during the week and had bought a Snowman stamp. (I think he thought I'd never get the Penny Black 'Snowy' Stamp in time for Christmas!) When he arrived this afternoon Tom had made a few more cards, using his new stamp, some Papermania Papers and some acetate. So I thought I'd take a picture!
Of course once he realised Snowy had arrive all the way from The States, a production line was soon formed all across the dining table!
While he used my Promaker pens to colour in Snowy, I showed him a new 'Wishing you a Merry Christmas ' stamp I'd bought from Hobby Craft last week (In their sale 79p instead of 2.99) and then got out the heat gun and a mixture of coloured inks and embossing powders and suddenly the production line was even longer! He even mixed a few colours to see what would happen! Snowmen cards, everywhere! I think he's hooked, don't you!!
(Ps...it gets hot, embossing!!)
Warm welcome and a big ((wave)) to new follower Diane, out the back with no picture and no link! Thank you for joining us Diane!! If there is one, I'll hunt out a link a.s.a.p! And!!! After a hunt through blogland, I'm guessing~ stop me if I'm wrong!! That your new blog is Keep Forever cards! I love that red background to your blog, can't wait to see some of your lovely makes!! Well, that's it for now! Thanks for stopping by, catch you all again very soon.

It's Snowy!

Look what turned up in Saturdays post? All the way from the USA?? Snowy!! Penny Black Rubber Stamp. I could swash a pea!! Actually two Snowy's as Tom, my son-in-law also wanted one. I've been hunting for this stamp for ages and no one had it in stock. I even bid on Ebay for a second hand one, but when it became dearer than a new one (plus postage) I gave up and bought some images for 99p instead. Now I realise that my old Snowy, which I'd had as a forum swap, wasn't all he should have been! He's smaller! Maybe he's melting! Anyway, cheered up my Saturday...now, you'll all be bored by hundreds and hundreds of Snowy cards! Hey! Maybe I'll but some images on Ebay too! Now...where's me ink!

Let it Quirky well Snow!

Here it is. This is my DT card for the Quirky Craft's Challenge. This time (have I mention it? once maybe twice?) it's my turn to come up with an idea on what to do. While I've been on the team there's been Vintage, Rough and Smooth, Out and About, Halloween or Autumn, also Masculine and a Recipe Challenge. So I've chosen to do a Sketch and here it is.
Don't worry, you don't have to follow the colours just the shapes but even then you can swap it about, flip it, use circles instead of squares, buttons instead of brads, flowers instead of gems, whatever really!
I've used a 5" square card, silver miri board, my favourite Penny Black Snowman again (I have him coming from America at last!) Couldn't find him anywhere here!) Gems from my stash and Woodware snowflakes brads also Woodware punches for the scalloped circles & snowflakes and a Martha Stewart fern punch. I've coloured him using ProMakers and Copic Pens. The blue paper snow flakes and the sentiment were coloured using a blue Copic pen, so the colour would match up. I've 3D-ed Snowy, just to make him a little different from the other Snowy cards I've made and added a bit of silver-grey 'eye-lash' wool.
If any of my followers join in with this challenge, and are picked as the winner (Me,myself and I, Mrs Judge lady!!) I'll add a little something extra to the prize!!
While I've been blog hopping, I've found PaperPlay Challenges and their challenge for this week is called 'Read All About it' and if you look very closely you'll see that behind Snowy The Snowman are the lyrics to 'Walking in a Winter Wonderland'! So, I'm thinking he'll fit right in there too!
Now then, any freebies?? Yes, course there is! All the papers I've used are from a 3 part Scrapbooking kit by Martine called Winter Wonderland and can be downloaded from The Craft Table Blot Spot (you'll find some gingham papers there too!) I've added an insert using more of the papers and another Snowy. Actually that would make a nice quick and simple card too, wouldn't it!? (yes Lyn)
What else? Ah! yes the font, that's a freebie too. Great isn't it? I quite often write like this on cards, but it looks even better typed! This was done in WordArt on the computer so I could get the word to 'flow' and also use another colour so it looks like there's a shadow, but it looks just as good writing it in ordinary Word, as you can see above, on the insert.
The Font is called Cool Dots and can be downloaded from ScrapBooking Fonts. It's a site specially for Scrapbooking fans, so hunt out their other lovely freebie fonts while you're there!! Or you can download it from HERE too!
I'd love to welcome new follower 150!!!! (ding dong ding dong!!) Annie! From Annie's Space. I was blog hopping last night and came across her lovely blog and had to follow because I fell in love with her 'Gnome Fold Card' and I think I'm going to pop back later and ask if I can 'Clipit' so you all can see it, (I know how lazy you are!!) But, come on, there's nothing on the Telly, (except Spiderman of course!) go and have a look!!!
Well, that's it for now, back later to add more things and correct all the smelling misstakes.
Don't forget to pop over to Quirky Crafts and have a go at this (wonderful!!! coz its my idea!) Sketch Challenge!! Thanks for stopping by!

Snow Time...

Honest, I haven't! (Now what's she on about?) I've 'snow' time to do a card today. I had some fantastic thing planned with the few oddments I've brought with me, but there's always something that you want and as sure as peas are green and Troll's feet smell, I've forgotten to bring any punches to make flowers. So, with any luck, I'll nip home and get a few more 'things' later. Hubby is looking a bit worried. (more worried than usual.) Our 'bed room' where we're dog sitting is fast becoming my craft room!
I went searching through my computer for one of my last years Christmas cards, which (hopefully) I haven't blogged about and after having a slight heart attack when I saw nearly all my documents were empty!!! I suddenly remembered I'd brought my add on hard-drive with me and once that was plugged in, every thing seemed to be okay! I've picked this Penny Black Snowman again. Well, I did say I'd made quite a few cards using him! Of course I'm running out now, as he was a forum swap well over a year ago, so if any one has this stamp and wants to sell it or knows of a crafty site who has it in stock, let me know!!

Snowy Snowman

Happy Saturday everyone!! Just a quickie Christmas card tonight, as it's almost tomorrow! My favourite Penny Black Snowman, Snowy, with added bits to his scarf and hat (by me!) I know you've seen him before but he is cute isn't he, and I have rather a lot of cards with him on!
Snowy was coloured with Whisper Pens. (They've roughed the paper up a bit and made the ink bleed) The 'snow' he's standing on is just Tesco's Finest. (Sorry, is wasn't 'real' snow) The 'greeting' is done on the computer first and then you cut a nice snowy shape, either around the snowman or cut him out and stick him on afterwards (which is what I did) over whatever snowy backing paper you've chosen. This card was cut at an angle and acetate added so I could fix on some snowy peel-offs and squirt on some Stickles glitter glue.
Hi to new follower! Thank you for joining Spyder's Corner, Charlie all the way from East of Cleveland, Ohio, United States. (Well, it is a long way from here!) Charlie has a lovely blog called My Jaynes and all of them in between... O...K...(sez me slowly) I guess Charlie knows a lot of Jaynes!
Don't forget to pop back to see my Sneak Peek of next weeks Quirky Challenge at Midnight or maybe a bit later... (I'll be in bed!) There's still time to enter this weeks challenge. To make anything, ATC's, Scrapbook page, Altered Art, Fat Page, anything that reminds you of a board game..Tic Tac Toe..Snakes and ladders, bingo! I haven't forgotten about blog Awards (post below this one) I've just lost my bit of paper, so I'll do that another time!! I will...Honest! (she won't she always forgets)
Thanks for stopping by!

Cute and Square Christmas Card

I know, I know...this isn't a Fairy Castle! It's a Christmas card. Honestly, the Fairy Castle will appear here very soon...at least by next Tuesday... I just found this card and thought it fitted in with a challenge over on Fab's Big Christmas Cards Challenge. (try saying that fast tens times) All the card has to be is cute, square, and a Christmas Card, and I think this one ticks all the boxes. Penny Black images, Whispers pens to colour, Stickles Glitter glue, Pink Petticoat papers covering a dark blue blank card and a peel-off sticker. (I drew in the musical notes.)
Sorry about the picture quality but it was taken before 'Blogworld' and I wasn't too bothered about what was going on behind! At least it's only a couple of pepper pots...and not the washing! (Or John...in his underwear...)

Penny Black Red White and Blue!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge have a red white and blue challenge this week and I thought, why not enter this card. My favourite snowman. I used him loads of times last Christmas and will probably use him again this Christmas and many Christmas's to come! Thinking about it, maybe I should've given him a red hat and scarf, but I like the blue. I used my Whisper Pens this time. The blue spotty paper was a freebie I downloaded sometime ago. Using my Nestabilities I cut a rectangle 'window' into the covered card, cut it to shape, then replaced the cut out card with acetate, sticking it down on the inside with double sided tape. Added white peel-off dots, which are edged with silver, to the acetate to look like more 'snow' falling around the two snowmen, and a red sticky ribbon (TrimCraft) with a snowflake, from stash, and a red peel off, 'Merry Christmas' Here's a link to another one...almost the same, the poor snowman inside the card, didn't have any snow to stand on though ( aw shame!)
There you go... now, that's two Christmas Cards I've finished ... another 70 odd to go!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back again! (thought you'd got rid of me didn't you!) Just a quick hi and (((wave))) to a New Follower!! Alcjmiller, better know as Carolyn, pop over to Creative Card Corner You'll find some lovely Penny Black, Tilda and a brilliant card made of shells! It's well worth a visit!
Thanks for stopping by!
