- Holotype: AMNH 196591, adult ♂, skin and skull.
- Type locality: “Latimodjong Gebirge, southwestern Celebes [=Sulawesi]. (...) at an elevation of 2200 meters. Latimodjong Gebirge is in the northern part of the southwest peninsula of Celebes near latitude 30 50' S., longitude 1200 10' E,” Indonesia.
