Gonna beat you like a DRUM!

— Zazz, Sonic Dash

Zazz is one of the two bosses that appear in Sonic Dash, and its enhanced port Sonic Dash+, alongside Eggman.

Zazz can be fought in any Zone with any character (except Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man). To trigger the battle, the player has to hit a Spring with a purple screen and a black Zazz head on it. A short while after the playable character lands on solid ground, Zazz will appear on his Moon Mech and hover on their left, introducing himself and starting the fight.

Boss guide[]

The boss battle is divided into three phases. During the first one, Zazz and his Moon Mech will hover behind the player and shoot stars from the Moon Mech towards the playable character, which the player can avoid by making a well-timed jump or by moving to the sides. After firing a total of nine shots, Zazz will proceed to the second phase of the fight, in which he will fly ahead of the player, from where he will drop stars on the road in different formations. Like with the missiles, the player can avoid the stars by moving to the sides or by jumping over them. Once the player approaches a section with three Springs, Zazz will laugh at the player and fly away.

In the third phase, after touching the Springs, the playable character will be in the air, right behind Zazz. The player then has to tap the green target reticles that appear, which will make their character attack Zazz. After successfully landing three hits, Zazz will be defeated and the player will receive points. If the player misses a hit though, Zazz will escape without the player receiving points.

Zazz will get more aggressive the more the player progresses in a single run. He will fire his stars at a much faster pace, even firing more of them over time, not giving the player much time to reach. In the third phase, the green targets will move much faster, increasing the chance the player misses a hit. However, if Zazz is successfully defeated, the player will be awarded more points.
