The Water Spout[1] is a gimmick that appears in the Sonic Boom series. It is a type of water leak used to form rails.
Description[]
Water Spouts are high-pressure, horizontal water geysers that form curved water arches. Above their openings are a snowflake icon. When frozen solid, they gain three spikes on their ends.
Overview[]
In Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice, the Water Spouts appear in every adventure level of Paleo Tarpits, where their intangible columns stretch over gaps, usually across spike pits. If the player touches the Water Spouts while Ice Mode is active, they are frozen solid, turning them into rails that let the player grind across the gaps they cover. Although they will thaw out on their own after a few seconds, the player can do this manually with Fire Mode. However, this will turn the Water Spouts intangible again.
