Features and abilities[]
In addition to being capable of flight, this vehicle is equipped with arms that it can use in close combat.
History[]
Sonic 3D Blast[]
In Sonic 3D Blast, Dr. Robotnik used this vehicle to battle Sonic the Hedgehog in Spring Stadium Zone. However, the machine was no match for Sonic, who managed to defeat it and make Robotnik retreat.
Battle[]
The Spring Stadium Zone boss is the third boss of Sonic 3D Blast. It is fought in Spring Stadium Zone Act 3 with Sonic the Hedgehog.
Boss guide[]
At the very beginning of this boss battle, the player has a few seconds to prepare for the fight by collecting nearby Rings. The player has a limited number of Rings at their disposal however, so they must use them carefully, as they do not respawn. After some time, Dr. Robotnik enters the arena in his vehicle and the fight begins.
Most of the time, the vehicle will follow the player from a height that keeps it out of Sonic's reach. Every now and then however, Robotnik will lower his flight path a bit and start hitting the ground violently with his vehicle's arms while following Sonic. After a few seconds however, the vehicle will rise into the air again and the pattern will repeat itself. An additional hazard the player has to watch out for in this fight are the spike panels that protrude spikes a second after Sonic steps on them.
There are two ways to hit Robotnik's vehicle. The first method involves the player jumping onto the wall with spikes while keeping said spikes from popping out. When Egg Mobile is flying close by, the player should then jump onto it. When doing so however, the player must be precise in order to hit the vehicle accurately. The second method involves approaching the Egg Mobile from behind when it is at a lower height during its paw attack and jump into the vehicle to deal damage.
With each hit, the vehicle will display more and more damage, but it will also move faster and faster. In addition, its paw attacks will become more intense. After eight hits, the vehicle will begin to explode and the fight will end, thus marking the player's completion of Spring Station Zone Act 3.
Trivia[]
- Once Robotnik is defeated, the retractable spikes on the floor no longer function.
