Sonic Past Cool 120

Momma T in front of a Scorch Plant, from "Sonic Past Cool".

The Scorch Plant[1] is a flora that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog television series. It is a plant that grows in the Great Jungle, and is known for its strong dissolving properties.

Description[]

Scorch Plants are flora, each consisting of a tall stem overgrown by numerous leaves. They also sprout purple flowers. These plants' surfaces also display characteristic sparkles.

What makes the Scorch Plants special is that they can melt matter, such as stone or metal, if it comes into contact with them. However, their seeds are harmless. So far, Scorch Plants are only known to grow in the Great Jungle. Also, while they might only grow by themselves, they sometimes grow in large fields as well.[1]

Season one[]

Sonic Past Cool 245

Several Stealthbots destroyed after colliding with Scorch Plants.

While traveling through the Great Jungle, the Knothole Freedom Fighters came across some Scorch Plants. Tails wanted to touch the plant, but Baby T pulled him away. Afterward, Momma T moved a stone into the Scorch Plants to show the Knothole Freedom Fighters just how dangerous these plants were. After the stone was destroyed, Rotor placed his screwdriver on the plant's leaves. When he took it back, the screwdriver disintegrated in his hands. Sonic and his friends thus began to consider using the plants against Dr. Robotnik's machines. Later, Sonic lured some Stealthbots into chasing him into a field full of Scorch Plants, causing the machines to get torn apart when they came into contact with the plants. Robotnik himself also barely managed to stabilize his hovercraft after touching the Scorch Plants. After Sonic returned to his friends, Sally showed him the seeds of the Scorch Plants, which she had managed to collect and planned to grow back in Knothole Village.[1]
