The Great Jungle[1] is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog television series. It is a large wilderness area on Mobius.
Description[]
The Great Jungle is a rainforest-like region. The area is completely uncharted and filled with various dangers. Some of the plants that grow here among others include the Scorch Plants, which are plants that can disintegrate metal upon physical contact. In addition, the Great Jungle contains dangerous, living vines that will quickly ensnare their victims and pull them into local quicksand pools.[1] All of these dangers together make navigating the Great Jungle a risky endeavor, both for robots and animals alike.

In the past, Dr. Robotnik would send several Recon-Bots into the Great Jungle, only to loose them to the wilderness.[1]
Season one[]

The Knothole Freedom Fighters once accompanied the migrating Terapods on their journey, which took them into the Great Jungle. Dr. Robotnik, Snively, and their Stealthbot squadron, however, followed them there in order to capture the Terapods and roboticize them. While in the Great Jungle, Tails almost touched a Scorch Plant, but Baby T stopped him from doing so. Momma T then showed the Knothole Freedom Fighters the properties of the Scorch Plant. Intrigued by those plants, the Knothole Freedom Fighters considered using the Scorch Plants against Robotnik's machines. A moment later however, Sonic was caught by a wild vine that pulled him over a pool of quicksand. Momma T, however, saved Sonic by pushing a fallen tree trunk into the quicksand beneath Sonic, thereby allowing Sonic to make it back on dry land. Later, the Knothole Freedom Fighters and the Terapods were attacked by Stealthbots. They tried to run away from them, but Robotnik managed to trap them within a force-field. The doctor then tried to catch Momma T in a cage. However, Sonic and Bunnie saved Momma T. Sonic then used a Power Ring to create a breach in the force-field, allowing the heroes and Terapods alike to escape. The heroes and Terapods later left the Great Jungle after Sonic lured Dr. Robotnik and his Stealthbots into a field covered in Scorch Plants which destroyed the Stealthbots and made Robotnik lose track of the heroes and the Terapods. Not long after, the Terapods reached Boulder Bay safely.[1]

In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics, the Great Jungle is also known as the Mobian Jungle, and is located on the Northamer continent.
