While most of the cars participating in the Grand Prix were created by Dodon Pa, the Formula M however - alongside the Egg Booster, Road Dragoon and Egg Pawns' cars - was made by Dr. Eggman.
The default Formula M's body build resembles that of the Speed Star, except more personalized to order to match Metal Sonic's appearance and of course true to its name, styled moreso like a Formula One racing car unlike Metal Sonic's prior vehicle while also having traces of the Blue Devil from Sonic Drift 2.
It features red headlights on the front wings that are similar to Metal Sonic's eyes (albeit duplicated once on each side likely in ode to Metal Overlord and Metal Madness), two triangular blue ears with yellow insides on the front and back of the car, and yellow tires that look similar to Metal Sonic's torso intake. Also inside the car above the steering wheel/grips lies a metallic globe just tucked under the windshield acting as a computer apparatus.
Like other cars in Team Sonic Racing, its appearance can be customized with different paint jobs, Performance Parts and decals. Its horn can also be changed.

Team Sonic Racing[]
In Team Sonic Racing, the Formula M appears as Metal Sonic's race car. During the events of the game, the Formula M was created by Dr. Eggman as a vehicle for Metal Sonic, whom the doctor recruited for his team, so he could participate in Dodon Pa's Grand Prix. The Formula M's ultimate fate after the crash of the Final Fortress, which destroyed all the other race cars, is unknown however.
The prior Metal Booster used by Metal Sonic often had a focus in high top speed and boost with average focus on acceleration and handling (though the acceleration stat was in particular less emphasized later on in Transformed). The Formula M's base stats likewise also focuses on high top speed and boost like before, albeit alongside decent handling and the acceleration stat this time being rather average. Even then, its defense stat is rather low. However, its statistics, as well as its artistic design, can be modified by replacing its parts.
The Formula M has the following exclusive Performance Parts that can be used to modify it:
