Doctor Eggman is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He was the alternate reality counterpart of Dr. Eggman from the In Another Time, In Another Place Zone. A mad scientist, he is the arch-enemy of Sonic the Hedgehog.
Appearance[]
Eggman is identical in appearance and wardrobe to his interdimensional counterpart originating from a alternate future to that of his Prime Zone counterpart. As such, he is a human with a rotund and burly appearance, his torso and head coming together in an egg-like shape. He possesses no visible neck, a bald head, a bright red nose, and a very bushy mahogany moustache. He also has long, almost disproportionately thin arms and legs.
For attire, Eggman wears tinted, navy blue pince-nez glasses and green-lensed goggles as headwear and an elegant, red coat sporting two square metal buttons on both sides of the chest in gold. These buttons have white straps that run across the coat's sides to identical buttons on the back. The coat also has silver, zipper-like linings down the back, arms and front, yellow cuffs, and two extensions on the front that have large silver buttons. In addition, Eggman also wears white, cuff-less gloves on his hands and a pair of black pants with matching boots seemingly attached to them bearing circular plates on the both sides of the ankles and three square ones riding up the shin.
During the Olympics, he briefly disguised himself as a referee for the events.
History[]
Sonic the Hedgehog CD[]
During an attempt to take over the Little Planet, Dr. Eggman unleashed his Metal Sonic robot to destroy his hated foe Sonic the Hedgehog, but ultimately ended up failing with Sonic beating him, Metal Sonic and saving Little Planet from Eggman's rule.[1]
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II[]
Eventually, Eggman had a showdown with Sonic onboard his E.G.G. Station, only for the hedgehog to destroy his Egg Destroyer Battlesuit, along with the station itself. With the return of the Little Planet however, Eggman set out to defeat Sonic once and for all by salvaging just the right robot to stop him, Metal Sonic.[1]
Sonic Unleashed[]
Eggman later constructed a powerful fleet of spaceships to attack the planet and was confronted by Super Sonic, but revealed that it had all been a trap. He was able to drain Super Sonic and the Chaos Emeralds's energy and and use it to shatter the planet into several large fragments in his bid to release a powerful creature, but ended up transforming Sonic into the Werehog as a result. Terrified, Eggman had him removed from the ship and sent him failing back down to the planet below.[3]
Sonic Colors[]
After thwarting his scheme, a back-to-normal Sonic would continue to plague Eggman. The next occasion was on a space station amusement park Eggman created with sinister intentions for the Wisps and their home planet.[4]
Olympic Trials[]
In spite of Metal Sonic's past failures, Eggman gave his mechanical robot minion another chance during the Olympics. After capturing Sonic's various friends using booby-trapped sports equipment, Orbot and Cubot, and his Caterkiller Badnik, Eggman challenged Sonic to defeat Metal Sonic in order to save his friends. However, Sonic managed to achieve victory by channeling the spirit of the Olympics, and forced Eggman and his lackeys to flee.[2]
