Biography[]
Gonpachi Hirai was born to Masaemon Hirai, whose father was a samurai of the Tottori clan. When he was in his 18, he killed his father's colleague Honjo Sukedayu with a Japanese sword and fled to Edo (present-day Tokyo). Afterwards, he fell in love with Komurasaki, a prostitute, and they became lovers, but he was forced to live on the run and murdered between 130 and 185 people for the purpose of robbery. After a while, he returned to his hometown of Tottori in the guise of a monk, but since his parents were dead, he turned himself in and was arrested, then sentenced to death by beheading and executed.
