Katherina Amantes is one of the pre-made, unplayable deceased ancestral Sims who resided during her lifetime in Veronaville, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims 2. She was the mother of Maria Arlecchino (née Amantes), the grandmother of Hero Monty and the great grandmother of Beatrice and Benedick Monty.

Katherina has personality points and interests, something uncommon for an ancestral Sim from Veronaville. However like most ancestral Sims from Veronaville, she has pre-set memories. Katherina is completely unplayable without the use of mods or hacks like SimPE.

Katherina has no memories of her husband, and although she has the memory of doing WooHoo with Mystery Sim, she doesn't have the memory of Maria's birth. So basically apart from the WooHoo memory, and having a memory of moving in, she only has Create a Sim memories.

Not much else is known about Katherina, as the only indication of her existence is provided by the Monty family tree. According to her SimDNA in SimPE, her hair was brown before it turned grey. According to Katherina's age data, she had 20 days left in the elder life stage when she died.

Interestingly, Katherina had 2 catalogue descriptions and one of them tells how she can be found in the family tree. The other catalogue description describes the need for translation of her files. Some languages gave Katherina different names in the two catalogue descriptions.

Katherina is the titular character in Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. She is later "tamed" by Petruchio.
