Benedick Monty is the son of Antonio Monty and his late wife Hero Monty and the younger twin brother of Beatrice Monty. He and his family can be found in the Veronaville family bin. Benedick is friends with Bottom Summerdream. His cousins are Mercutio and Romeo Monty. His biography states that he is the gentler twin, and also very smart. When first played, Benedick is 4 days away from becoming a teenager. When he becomes an adult, he will be voiced by Stephen Kearin.

He has dark blue eyes. The only one of his ancestors who also had dark blue eyes was his great-great-grandfather Proteus Pantalone. According to Benedick's Sim DNA in SimPE, he has the recessive allele for brown eyes and brown hair. Also when editing in SimPE, his zodiac sign is not recognized. This could explain why he doesn't have a zodiac sign mismatch in-game like most pre-made playable Sims from the base game do. Benedick also has a hidden Family aspiration token, which hints at the aspiration EA wanted for him. If The Sims 2: FreeTime is installed, Benedick's predestined hobby will be nature.

Strangely, if Benedick's appearance is extracted with SimPE to Body Shop, he will be thin instead of fit. The reason for this is because he will have the fitness texture for thin Sims when he becomes a teen instead of the one for fit Sims. This will become more apparent when he becomes an adult. This implies that he was originally thin and his fitness level was subsequently modified with a program like SimPE. The only way for him to have the fitness texture for fit Sims without hacks is by having him overeat until he becomes thin, and then have him workout until he is fit again. This also happens with many other pre-made Sims in The Sims 2.

Benedick is a central character in Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. In the play, he falls in love with Beatrice, who was not his sister in the play.
