The Death of Comic Book Guy! (Part One) is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Comic Book Guy: The Comic Book #1. The four first pages were also published in Bart Simpson #54 in June 2010. The chapters of part one are "Prelude to a Beginning!", "And Lo There Shall Come A Lard Lad!" and "Death Be Not Fat!".
Chapter The First: Prelude to a Beginning![edit]
Comic Book Guy is recording sequences in which he dies, which he publishes on the Internet, based on famous stories. After Milhouse told him that GNK (Graphic Novel Kid) has done the same, he banished all the customers who are in his comic book store at the time. Comic Book Guy then goes to his computer and discovers that the spokes-model for Lard Lad has died, and they are looking for a new, so he decides to enter the competition.
Chapter Two: And Lo There Shall Come A Lard Lad![edit]
It's time for the competition and he meets The Graphic Novel Kid, who has also has decided to compete to become the new spokes-model. The race starts, the first part is eating as many donuts as you can, followed by a bath in a hot tub of coffee and then going through a maze of glaze. It's a tie between them and the jury appoints Graphic Novel Kid the winner. In addition to becoming the new spokes-model, he gets a new car that is glazed with grease. After Graphic Novel Kid drove away with his prize, his car explodes and he dies. Comic Book Guy then realizes how lucky he was having not died, and decides to live life to the fullest. He begins by looking at a marathon with Manimal.
Chapter Three: Death Be Not Fat![edit]
Comic Book Guy lives a new life: he closed his shop for a week, tried to live left-handed for a day, and he buys everything at a big movie sale, making the other geeks angry. In rage, Comic Book Guy throws his new treasury shield into the audience, but it nozzles back at him, and starts a chain-reaction that leads to Comic Book Guy flying up into the air with his Superguy's Rocket, which explodes - Comic Book Guy is now dead.
