apparently windows 7 has currently surpassed it http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_os.asp
The reasons that I changed the main article
[change source]The previous revision of the main article had several obviously grammar mistakes and used improper word or phrase.
version -> edition
replace -> take place of
I've looked up the simple English vocabulary, there is no replace, but take, place, of. So I made changes to it. I also simplified the complex sentences.
Windows XP is a personal computer operating system version of Windows made by Microsoft
This is a wrong expression in any English! So I split it into two sentences
Windows XP is an operating system for personal computer. It is a version in Windows family made by Microsoft.

- I know your edits were made in good faith, and some of this article could use improvement. However, you did not use correct English, and you actually made some of the sentences more complex. For example, "take place" does not mean "replace": it means "happen". If you want to work on articles, you might want to work in a sandbox and have someone look at your work before putting it in articles. You would not be blocked just for making mistakes like this, but it's very possible you would be blocked for the personal attack on my talk page. --Auntof6 (talk) 00:25, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry, later, I would first wrote a draft before making modification to the main article. Sorry! Janagewen (talk) 02:55, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
- I think take place of is better than replace, anyway, everything is ok.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.249.84.179 (talk) 02:02, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

About Versions and Editions
[change source]Dear Kids,
No matter for what reason you have all, but pleas pay attention the differences between version and edition. Windows XP has many different editions, such as Professional, Home, 64-bit, Tablet, Media Center, Professional x64 edition and Starter. And among them, Media Center has two versions, 2004 and 2005; and 64-bit also has two versions, 2002 and 2003.
So what is edition and what is version in Windows XP you have to make clear. — This unsigned comment was added by 128.199.170.199 (talk • changes) on 08:52, 11 February 2015.
