Larry Claxton Flynt, Jr. (November 1, 1942 – February 10, 2021) was an American publisher. He published Hustler magazine. In 1978, Flynt was shot in an assassination attempt by Joseph Paul Franklin. That left him paralyzed from the waist down. Flynt had a golden wheelchair. Franklin was executed in November 2013 by lethal injection.

Flynt was born on November 1, 1942 in Magoffin County, Kentucky.[1]

Marriages

Flynt was married several times. He was married to Mary Flynt from 1961 until they divorced in 1965. He was married to Peggy Flynt from 1966 until they divorced in 1969. He was married to Kathy Flynt from 1970 until they divorced in 1975. He was married to Althea Leasure from 1976 until her death in 1987. He was married to Elizabeth Berrios from 1998 until his death.

Health and death

Flynt had said that he has bipolar disorder.[2]

Flynt died from heart failure in Los Angeles on February 10, 2021, at the age of 78.[3]
