Jackie Evancho
Jacqueline Marie "Jackie" Evancho (/iːˈveɪŋkoʊ/ ee-VAYNG-koh; born April 9, 2000)[1] is an American classical crossover singer. Evancho plays piano, flute, and is also a songwriter.[1] She gained wide recognition at an early age. Since 2009, Evancho has released an EP and five studio albums.[2] She has one platinum and one gold album.[3] Evancho has even performed at Carnegie Hall.[3]
Between 2008 and 2010, Evancho entered several talent competitions. She made singing appearances, mostly in Pennsylvania. She also attracted interest on YouTube. In 2010, at age ten, she gained wider popularity with her performances in the fifth season of the America's Got Talent competition.[4] She finished in second place behind Michael Grimm.[4] Evancho starred in the 2012 movie "The Company You Keep" with Robert Redford.[3]
