Evelyn Rose Matthei Fornet (born 11 November 1953) is a Chilean politician. She has been the mayor of Providencia since 2016. She was a Deputy in the Chilean Congress from 1990 to 1998. She also was a Senator from 1998 to 2011.

In January 2011, she left her Senate seat to become Minister of Labor and Social Security under Chilean President Sebastián Piñera until July 2013.[1]

In the 2013 general election, she ran for President of Chile, however, she lost in a runoff to former President Michelle Bachelet.[2] She ran again for president in the 2021 general election, however failed to make it to the runoff.

Matthei is seen as the front-runner for president in the 2025 general election.[3]
