History and Features
[change | change source]The Buick Encore GX was shown alongside the second generation Buick Encore at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2019.[1] The Encore GX shares its plataform with the Chevrolet Trailblazer and is positioned between the Buick Encore and the Envision and is made by GM Korea.[2] While in China, it is made by SAIC-GM, a joint venture between General Motors and SAIC Motor.
The SUV has a 1.2 and 1.3 liter both turbo gasoline engines with a 9-speed automatic transmission (availiable in AWD only) and CVT transmission (avaliable in FWD only). It was improved in 2023 as a 2024 model.
Markets
[change | change source]Currently the Buick Encore GX is sold in North America,[3] China, and Mexico (where it is basically sold as the Encore).[4] After the discontinuation of the Encore, the Encore GX became the entry-level model of Buick until the launch of the Buick Envista.
