Area code 956

Area code 956 is a telephone area code in the state of Texas, United States. It was created on May 25, 1997, when it was split from area code 210. It covers the southernmost part of Texas, including the Rio Grande Valley. Some of the major cities and towns in this area code include Laredo, McAllen, Brownsville, Harlingen, and Edinburg. It is set to be used up in late 2027.[1]
