Abu Muhammad al-Julani is a Syrian militant leader of the militant group Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham.
Before he cut ties with al-Qaeda in 2016,[4] he was the emir of the defunct Jabhat al-Nusra, the official group that repersented al-Qaeda in Syria.[5] The United States considers Muhammad a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist" since May 2013,[6] and placed a $10 million reward for information that could lead to him being arrested four years after.[7][8] As of June 2024, the reward is still eligible for informants.[9]
