Medina Spirit (April 5, 2018 – December 6, 2021) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 2021 Kentucky Derby.[1] He qualified for the race by winning the Robert B. Lewis Stakes and finishing second in both the San Felipe Stakes and Santa Anita Derby.

He was ridden by jockey John Velazquez and trained by Bob Baffert in his record seventh Derby victory. At first, the odds for Medina Spirit to win the derby was 12-1 or 8%.[2]

Medina Spirit died of a heart attack on December 6, 2021 in Arcadia, California at the age of 3.[3]
