Patrick Star

Honestly, there was one question in my mind: where the hell was Patrick on this wiki?

What's The Work?[]

The SpongeBob SquarePants franchise is a comedy franchise about an optimistic sponge named SpongeBob who lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary and goes on multiple adventures in Bikini Bottom with his friends.

Who Is He?[]

Pat is the deuteragonist of the franchise, being SpongeBob's dimwitted best friend.

What Makes Him A Shonen Hero?[]

  • Heroic/Honorable: Saved Bikini Bottom from Plankton, helped save SpongeBob from Poseidon, and was able to get a coupon so that he can get an ice cream for SpongeBob. His best appearance by far was from the Season 9 episode, "Goodbye Krabby Patty?" where he got SpongeBob's job back by exposing the truth about frozen Krabby Patties.
  • Courageous/Reckless: Extremely dumb for reckless, but as for courage, he doesn't often get scared. Heck, in the first episode, Help Wanted, he motivates SpongeBob to go to the Krusty Krab!
  • Energetic: The opposite in early seasons. Became just as hyperactive as SpongeBob (and sometimes in the worst ways possible in the newest seasons, where he's not necessarily at his worst, but he does feel like more of a nothing character in these newest seasons, though Season 9 has his best portrayals) during the Modern SpongeBob era.
  • Stubborn: Obviously because he doesn't like to follow Squidward's orders and often messes with him along with SpongeBpb.
  • Pursues A Big-End Goal: In Big Pink Loser, it's being the best he can be by getting a trophy like SpongeBob did.
  • Hard-Working: Despite being mostly a lazy character, he does try his best to be great at something in Big Pink Loser by copying SpongeBob.
  • Unintelligent: This one is extremely obvious. Don't need to point out any examples, this has been the main trait of the starfish ever since his debut. Only thing I have to say is he does subvert this from time to time, and it can make for the worst (Ink Lemonade) and best (Patrick SmartPants) episodes, and that after Season 11, I feel like his stupidity was exaggerated too much, and the culmination of this was actually in one of the earliest post-Season 11 episodes, The Nitwitting.
  • Optimistic: There's a reason why he motivated SpongeBob in Help Wanted.
  • Idealistic: Again, motivates SpongeBob in Help Wanted.
  • Determined: When he wants to reach a goal, he tries everything he could to reach that goal (as shown in Big Pink Loser and No Hat for Pat).
  • Confident/Cocky: In the worst ways at times. He can sometimes rub his accomplishments in SpongeBob's face like in Driven to Tears.
  • Unpredictable: Nobody can predict what his stupidity could lead to.
  • Self-Sacrificing: There's the SpongeBob Movie, then there's also Patrick's Coupon, and then there's the episode that exemplifies this, No Hat for Pat. The entire episode revolves around him falling to the ground for the entertainment of Krusty Krab customers.
  • Resilient: He's able to get back up when he fails.
  • Believes in the Power of Friendship: His friendship with SpongeBob gets him through tough situations, especially those in the SpongeBob Movie.
  • Oblivious To Love: He's generally oblivious to most things, but in That's No Lady, this is true when Squidward gains a crush on his new persona, Patricia.
  • Possesses Plot Armor: Recently, almost all of his episodes have him win in the end or get away with everything.
  • Short-Tempered: "NO, THIS IS PATRICK!"
  • Has Rivals; Of all people, SpongeBob oftentimes.
  • Big Eater: "Oh boy, 3AM!" - Patrick eating his Krabby Patty a 3AM.
  • Has An Idol: Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
  • Mischievous: "Huh? Is it time already to ruin Squid's day?"
  • Rebellious: In the ending of That's No Lady, where he removes his disguise, even if that meant he could potentially have left Bikini Bottom.
  • Forgiving: He and SpongeBob forgive each other often, as shown in The Fry Cook Games.
  • Is A Neglectful Parent: "So this is the thanks I get for working overtime." - Patrick after doing nothing to take care of the baby clam in Rock A Bye Bivalve.
  • Is A Dude Magnet: In his disguise, Patricia, he attracts Squidward.
  • Is An Underdog: It's this type of story that makes Big Pink Loser and No Hat for Pat great episodes.
  • Is A True Hero: He isn't anti-heroic for sure. He'd safe his friends when they're in danger.
  • Has A Battle Cry: As shown in the final challenge shown in The Fry Cook Games.

Caution Category[]

  • Inconsistently Heinous: Has committed genocide on the residents of Pint Bottom, but come on, who's going to pay attention to a SpongeBob comic as much as the SpongeBob show?
  • On & Off: He can often be smug and jerkish towards SpongeBob and Squidward at times, but he's still mostly heroic and doesn't do any villainous acts in the newest episodes. If anything, I feel like he's a mostly nothing character in these newest seasons.

Final Verdict[]

Patrick obviously gets a yes, since he has all Basic Traits. And do not say anything about him being too On & Off. SpongeBob is even more On & Off due to destroying the universe and sharing the same genocidal act on Pint Bottom with Patrick, yet he gets to be on this wiki.
