#TGIF499 Changing Leaves

This autumn the leaves have been bright and beautiful and a sight to see. In my neighborhood the leaves now lie on the ground and the tree branches are totally bare, but in my mind I can still see the wonder of nature. For #TGIF499 we are sharing projects that feature "autumn breeze and beautiful leaves."

For this card I used the stunning Changing Leaves Hybrid Bundle. I chose a palette of Berry Burst, Cajun Craze, Copper Clay, Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie, and Bubble Bath. I also included copper foil and Wink of Stella for shine and sparkle.

For the "hello" greeting I die cut that from Berry Burst Glimmer Paper using the Rustic Crate Dies. Did you notice the woodgrain paper? It's called Wood Textured 12" x 12" Specialty Paper. It comes all white so you can brayer it and make it any color you like. I used a brayer to add a light coat of Bubble Bath.

#TGIF493 Classic October Colors

Orange and black are to me the most iconic October colors. Trends come and go and we see fun color combinations for the fall. Yet still, black and orange stand supreme as THE colors for the season. Over at #TGIF493 we are combining Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, and Very Vanilla.

I put together a simple card that features shades of Pumpkin Pie die cut leaves and a quick greeting. I used the leaf from the Every Celebration set of Dies to cut my leaves and then colored with them with Pumpkin Pie and Peach Pie Stampin' Blends to get a variety of pumpkin tones. I backed the line up of leaves with a panel of Very Vanilla that was dry embossed with the Forever Plaid 3D Folder.

#TGIF489 A Color Challenge I Failed

#TGIF489 is a color challenge and I failed it! I had so much fun playing with shades of Berry Burst and Night of Navy that I completely forgot the Crumb Cake. Oh well, it's still a pretty card that I made using the Layers of Beauty Stamps, Dies, and Masks along with the new Plaid 3D Embossing Folder and the Friends for Life Dies.

#TGIF487 Full of Life Friend

You know what's cool about this card? The Tune In stamps and dies that's what is cool!! I find this bundle to be so charming and different. You see I have lots of flowers, leaves, animals, but this is the only television themed stamp set that I have or have ever had. I do think this bundle pairs fabulously with the
Full of Life DSP which just happens to be our challenge for this week at #TGIF487.

Ephemera for #TGIF485

#TGIF485 is a sketch challenge which is always a favorite for me. I brought this sketch to life with the mix and match products from the Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog.

I started my spin on this layout with one of the cards and envelopes from the Calming Creek pack and then layered a few pieces of Country Lace DSP to mimic the sketch. To base my focal elements I first added a circle from the Labels and Layers Ephemera pack. Next, I used pieces from the Something for Everything Ephemera pack to create a fun focal point and then used greetings from the Saying Something Ephemera pack.

To finish it all up I added a Balmy Blue Baker's Twine bow, clear Opal Rounds, and then a bit of Wink of Stella to add sparkle to the cake and the 'beautiful."

#TGIF481 Sketch Challenge meets Bistro Burger

This "great guy" card came together pretty quick thanks to the latest sketch challenge from #TGIF481.

I wasn't sure about the Bistro Burger Bundle, but then at closer look I saw the awesomeness these stamps and dies offer. Together the stamps and dies have so many cool details. This may sound crazy but I love the knife and how it's designed to fit in the top of the burger. That's right the burger die has a slit in the top where you can insert the knife. It's a cool feature.

#TGIF477 Sketch Challenge Meets Ephemera!

Check out the sketch in the graphic below. Do you see how wide open it is for interpretation? For this #TGIF477 I used three of the new packs of ephemera found in the Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog.

I started with one of the Calming Creek Mix and Match Cards and Envelopes and then added a layer of embossed Pool Party cardstock. I dry embossed the Pool Party with the Dashing Designs 3D Folder. I should say that that folder is super cool.

Now for all of the bits and pieces that I used to create the scene on the front of my card. I used three of the ephemera packs. I used the Something For Everything Mix and Match pack, the Labels and Layers Mix and Match pack, and for the greetings the Saying Something Mix and Match pack.

Last, to complete the card I splattered with a Bronze Stampin' Blend, included some Linen Thread, and then finished with three of the Adhesive-Backed Textured Dots.

#TGIF475 Happily Ever After

A perfect set of stamps and dies for our latest #TGIF475 challenge is the Lifetime of Love Bundle.

#TGIF474 Friendships

I do believe that friendships make our hearts bloom with joy, happiness, peace, and love. I made this card with stamps and dies from the Filled with Fun Bundle and the retired Masterfully Made DSP. I think it finished beautifully and will be perfect for giving to a friend. Not only that, it's a fit for our latest challenge at #TGIF474.

TGIF473 Backgrounds!

The #TGIF473 challenge is all about backgrounds. I did an emboss resist technique combined with watercolor smooshing. You know what heat embossing is and that's what I did first. I stamped a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with the Drizzling Droplets background image with Whisper White Ink. Then I heat embossed the entire image with White Embossing Powder. Once the entire piece cooled off after the heat embossing and moved on the to smooshing.

To smoosh I pressed Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, and Flirty Flamingo onto my Glass Mat. Then I spritzed the inks with water, enough to really move the inks. I tipped the Glass Mat to blend the inks together and then I laid my embossed piece face down into all the ink. I pressed the paper and smooshed things around. Once the paper was dry I buffed the embossed area to brighten up the white droplet images.

The floral and leaf dies and images come from the Lifetime of Love Bundle. The rectangles were die cut with the Everyday Details Dies. For the floral images I colored with Peach Pie, Flirty Flamingo, and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Blends.

Here's a look at the simple stampin' on the inside of the card. To give the stamped images a bit more color I splattered with Stampin' Blends using my Bone Folder to knock on the barrels. I kept the splatters to the left edge as I wanted to concentrate all the color around the leaves.
