Colour Creations: Merry Merlot

 Hi!

Thanks for stopping by on our Colour Creations Merry Merlot Blog Hop. As the name suggests, it's a deep burgundy/red that's part of the Neutral colour family.

I really liked this colour combo from Brian King. It screams 'nautical' to me, but as I don't have any stamps in that theme, I had to think a bit harder about what to do.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Rugged Icons Dies, Timber 3DEF, Stylish Shapes Dies, A Good Man, Masculine Card

Rugged Icons to the rescue! I used a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet on the back of some Very Vanilla cardstock before cropping it with the beard die. It adds such lovely dimension, and is way less fiddly than trying to add foam adhesive later.

scissorspapercard, Colour Creations, Rugged Icons Dies, Timber 3DEF, Stylish Shapes Dies, A Good Man, Masculine Card

For my background, I embossed some Vanilla card with the Timber 3DEF, and then used a Blending Brush to add some Merry Merlot ink over the top. Finally, I added some splatters in Night Of Navy.

This time, I just added some Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Merry Merlot cardstock before cropping with the beard die. I love the way that the beard wraps around the sentiment!

The next stop along the way is my lovely friend, Theresa Gerrard. I can't wait to see what she's done with Merry Merlot.

If you run into any issues with links on the blog hop, please jump on over to the blog of the very wonderful Cathy Proctor. She will have a list of all of tonight's participants on her blog.

Colour Creations: Smoky Slate

 Hi!

Welcome back to my blog for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are nearing the end of this round, starting the final month with Smoky Slate. It's a lovely, pale grey from the Neutrals colour family. I decided to pair it with some retiring dies that will find a place in my permanent collection - Suit & Tie Dies.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, A Good Man, Suit & Tie Dies, A Good Man, Masculine Card

There's nothing particularly fancy about my card tonight, but that's OK. I think masculine cards tend to be less fancy on the whole. What do you think?

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, A Good Man, Suit & Tie Dies, A Good Man, Masculine Card

To get a faux fabric look, I embossed the Smoky Slate cardstock with the Tasteful Textile 3DEF. Very sadly, this embossing folder is retiring. The stamp set that I used, A Good Man, is (you guessed it) also retiring.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, A Good Man, Suit & Tie Dies, A Good Man, Masculine Card

I used some Smoky Slate DSP to create the ties for my card. I cropped the full tie, and then a second piece for the knot. I like how it gives a more 3D effect with very little extra effort.

That's all from me for tonight - short and sweet, as I celebrate my 20th Wedding Anniversary with a special dinner with my family!

The next stop along the way is my love friend, Rachel Palmieri. I'm sure she's got a cracker of a card to see!

If you get stuck, pop on over to Catherine Proctor's blog - she has a list of all participants to help get you back on track!

CTC 355: Sale-A-Bration Catalogue

 Hi!

I don't know about you, but my weekend has vanished in a blink! LOL, I guess that's what happens when you get stuck into a good book! The end of the weekend means the start of the new CASEing The Catty Challenge, so it can't be all bad.

This week we are asking you to CASE a project from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

I chose this sweet little card, as I really loved the butterflies stamped over the inked cardstock. Aren't they pretty? I don't tend to make smaller cards, and so I decided to switch to a full sized card, and once I started switching things up my card came out very differently to the original.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Butterfly Brilliance, A Good Man, Expressions In Ink SDSP, Tasteful Labels Dies

So it still has butterflies and orange, and has the same die-cut label and white trim, bit otherwise not much is the same. I got a bit lazy with the inked cardstock and decided to stamp on some DSP from the Expressions In Ink SDSP pack using my Butterfly Brilliance stamp set.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Butterfly Brilliance, A Good Man, Expressions In Ink SDSP, Tasteful Labels Dies

The sentiment is from A Good Man - I found that I don't have many sentiments that are suitable for the vertical label from the Tasteful Labels Dies. A few sequins finished off the front of the card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Butterfly Brilliance, A Good Man, Expressions In Ink SDSP, Tasteful Labels Dies

I don't want to add more butterflies to the inside, so I satisfied myself with a left over strip of the Expressions SDSP and another sentiment from A Good Man.

We'd love for you to play along with us this week while we CASE the SAB Catalogue. All you need to do is add a photo of your card to our Facebook group. Too easy!

Have you finished our Blog Hop? I'm the last stop this week, but if you started somewhere in the middle, then please keep on going until you get to where you started. The first blog this week is Julia Quinn's blog, with her delightful 3D card.

CTC 351: CASE The SAB Catalogue

 Hi!

Welcome to another week of the CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Have you had time to have a good look at your new Catalogues yet? I hope so! They are live now to customers, with plenty of gorgeous new products.

Our focus this week for our challenge, is the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. It may be small, at 20 pages, but there's still plenty of inspiration to be found.
I loved this card from page 17. I liked the layering and the DSP and the textures. Funnily enough though, in the end my card looks nothing like it!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, In The Moment, A Good Man, Expressions In Ink SDSP, Sunflower Dies, Stampin' Blends

I used the new In The Moment stamp set as my focal image, colouring it with a variety of Stampin' Blends. I took inspiration for my colours from the Expressions In Ink SDSP, that forms the background of my card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, In The Moment, A Good Man, Expressions In Ink SDSP, Sunflower Dies, Stampin' Blends

In an attempt to replicate the layered leaves on the original card, I die cut some of the leaves from the Sunflower Dies in Gold Foil and layered them underneath the main banner.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, In The Moment, A Good Man, Expressions In Ink SDSP, Sunflower Dies, Stampin' Blends

I stamped the same image again on the inside. I deliberately left the inside sentiment-free, as it makes the card more flexible. The 'relax your way' sentiment (from A Good Man) on the front could apply in a few different scenarios, don't you think?

Our weekly challenge is run through our Facebook page, so all you need to enter is a Facebook account and a photo of your card. A blog is not essential. We'd love to see what inspires you from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

Now it's time to continue your way around our blog hop. The next cab off the rank is my friend, Julia. She made a gorgeous scrapbook page for last week's challenge - I wonder what she'll make this time?

Bye for now,

Tina

Colour Creations: Mango Melody

 Hi!

It's time for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop! This week it's Mango Melody's turn to feature on our cards. It's a lovely orange tome from the Brights colour family. I don't use orange a lot, but Mango Melody is my go-to when I do.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, A Good Man, Biggest Wish, Pierced Blooms Dies, Stitched Greenery Die, Layering Squares Dies, Subtle 3DEF

I was a bit stumped for ideas this week, so I went for a fairly classic card layout. The four squares are a great way to feature either a small image or die cut, and I chose to use my Pierced Blooms Dies. It's been a while since I played with them!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, A Good Man, Biggest Wish, Pierced Blooms Dies, Stitched Greenery Die, Layering Squares Dies, Subtle 3DEF

I used my Stitched Greenery Die on the background, but I think it would look just as good with just a white background. You can't see it, but I have added a swim of Wink Of Stella to the white centres of the flowers. Each square was popped up using Dimensionals.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, A Good Man, Biggest Wish, Pierced Blooms Dies, Stitched Greenery Die, Layering Squares Dies, Subtle 3DEF

One final flower completes the inside of the card. The flowers are double layered, as I thought that the single layer wasn't quite enough.

Thanks for joining me again - I do hope that you continue your way around our Blog Hop tonight. The teams has been fabulous each week, full or inspiration for the feature colour. The next blog in the hop tonight is my lovely friend, Theresa Gerrard. I'm sure she's got a stunner for us, waiting over on her blog!

Jump on over to Catherine Proctor's blog if you run into a problem - she's our fabulous hostess, and has a full list of all tonight's hoppers on her blog.

JAI 570: Just Add Colour

 Hi!

Hooray for another Friday! I'm soooo ready for the weekend - how about you? I'm hoping to get a little quilting done, perhaps some card making too. I hope you've got something fun planned, too. If not, why not try the new Just Add Ink challenge?

Isn't this colour combo fabulous? I love the two different blues, and the addition of white keeps it fresh. I'm not sure why, but I pulled out a couple of long-retired products to play with on my card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, A Good Man, Celebrate You Thinilts, Chevron Embossing Folder, Masculine Card

The first of which is the Chevron Embossing Folder. It's such a fun background! However, the folder was designed before SU started releasing square folders, so to get a portrait orientation card I had to emboss two pieces of card - the join is under the sentiment panel.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, A Good Man, Celebrate You Thinilts, Chevron Embossing Folder, Masculine Card

Speaking of the sentiment, it's my other retired product. It's from the Celebrate You Thinlits set, which I think started off as a Sale-A-Bration item, but was included in the following year's Annual Catalogue. I'm a sucker for word dies, so they stayed in my collection after they retired.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Just Add Ink, A Good Man, Celebrate You Thinilts, Chevron Embossing Folder, Masculine Card

I really wasn't sure what to put on the inside of the card, so I ended up making it a masculine card by stamping the image and sentiment from A Good Man. I feel like the front could be either masculine or feminine, but the inside is definitely masculine. What do you think?

That's all from me for tonight - I'm off to enjoy my weekend! The Royal Adelaide Show should have been on this week, but it was cancelled due to COVID. My kids still get an extra long weekend off from school, so it will be nice to have four days at home with them.

Please jump on over to the Just Add Ink Blog to see the cards that the rest of the Design Team have created. You can also add your card to the link gallery. I can't wait to see what you do with these colours.

Colour Creations: Basic Grey

 Hi!

Welcome to this week's Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are showcasing Basic Grey this time around. It's a dark grey from the Neutrals colour family that has been in the colour line-up a very long time.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Neutrals DSP, Suit & Tie Dies, Biggest Wish, A Good Man

I decided to stick with Clean And Simple for my card, which uses the Suit & Tie Dies alongside the Biggest Wish stamp set. I cropped the three ties from my Neutrals DSP, after first adhering it to a layer of Basic Grey cardstock. This just gives the DSP extra strength so it won't sag when popped up on Dimensionals.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Neutrals DSP, Suit & Tie Dies, Biggest Wish, A Good Man

I made sure that when I cropped the knot part of the tie, I altered the angle of the DSP. This is most obvious in the striped tie. It gives a more realistic look to the knot.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, Colour Creations, Neutrals DSP, Suit & Tie Dies, Biggest Wish, A Good Man

One final tie was cropped for the inside of my card, along with a sentiment from A Good Man.

Thanks for joining me tonight, please do continue on with the Blog Hop though. Next up is Rachel Woollard, with her gorgeous Basic Grey card.

CTC 320: All Occasions Section

 Hi!

Wow, how has Sunday evening rolled around again so quickly? It's been a super busy week for me, so no wonder it flew by! My favourite way to end the week is with the CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop, so let's get started!

This week we are asking you to CASE the All Occasions section of the new Annual Catalogue. There's 49 pages, so plenty of inspiring projects to choose from. This cutie caught my eye.

I don't have any baby stamps, as most people in my life are beyond that for now. I did, however, love the Stitched Rectangles that sit behind each of the three images, so this formed the basis of my card.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Bloom Where You're Planted DSP, A Good Man, Stitched Rectangles Dies

I received the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP last week, and thought that the plant images would be the perfect substitute for the babies. To suit the design, this meant having three vertical rectangles to frame the plants.

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Bloom Where You're Planted DSP, A Good Man, Stitched Rectangles Dies

I wanted the background DSP to be very neutral, so I chose this Grey Granite piece. My uncle owns a cane furniture business, and he used to give the fabric scraps from the seating cushions to my Nana. She'd make all kinds of things with them, and this paper reminds me of the fabric, and her. She was always busy making something!

scissorspapercard, Stampin' Up!, CASEing The Catty, Bloom Where You're Planted DSP, A Good Man, Stitched Rectangles Dies

On the inside I used one of the plant images that was on the side of the DSP sheet, so partially cut off. This is perfectly OK to use, just adhere it over the side of your card so the cropped bit looks intentional!

That's all from me for tonight, but please come and join in with our challenge. Just make a suitable card and upload it to our Facebook group. It really is that easy!

For now, though, please do continue on with our Blog Hop. Next up is my lovely friend, Rachel. She's had a lot of fun playing with a stamp set that may very soon make the jump from my 'maybe' list to my 'must-have' list. I've loved seeing her recent creations using it, and I'm sure you will too.

Bye for now,

Tina
