Aura Siphon is the Semblance of Gillian Asturias.
It allows her to transfer Aura between different people.
Description[]
Gillian's Semblance, Aura Siphon, allows her to transfer Aura between different people, much like Jaune Arc. However, she is also able to drain Aura from others to recover her own, as well as storing it for herself. This adds onto her own Aura, forming a rainbow of color. Gillian is also capable of forming a chain of Aura by draining it from one person, and using herself as a link to transfer it into another. Aura passed onto others will eventually fade, and she needs physical contact to transfer it.
This Semblance grants Gillian numerous advantages in a battle, due to her being able to siphon Aura and store it into herself. This granted her the ability to continuously siphon Aura from her opponents to simultaneously reinforce her own Aura reserves and protection while at the same time draining her opponents, allowing her to weaken their own defenses and possibly disable the use of their Semblances.
History[]
When Gillian's mother, Luna Asturias was pregnant with Gillian and Jax Asturias, she had became sick near constantly and her Aura would deplete with no clear reason as to why. At the time, the same would happen with Jax. It was thought to be a condition until it was realized Gillian’s Semblance had been draining them. An emergency procedure was needed to save Jax from being drained, and Luna died in the process. This shows that Gillian's Semblance was already powerful enough that even prior to her birth, it was already active.
Gillian properly discovered her Semblance in her childhood, and was trained to use it by her father. Due to his low Aura, Jax would have to be supplied strength by Gillian, and as such became close to her through that.
Between RWBY: After the Fall and RWBY: Before the Dawn, Gillian situates herself in the Crown Bunker where she siphons Aura from powerful hosts into The Crown's agents and Crownsmen, such as Carmine Esclados. Among the hosts, the group betrays Bertilak Celadon and punishes him by keeping him there.
As the Battle of Shade starts, Gillian arrives soon after the first wave of the Grimm, being able to properly control the battlefield with her Semblance.
Later, now being low on Aura, Gillians pleads Jax to escape with her, but he insists on dying with his creation. Gillian attempts to drain his Aura as a motivator, but he uses his Semblance to force her to give him more strength. Jax is then tackled by Yatsuhashi, and the two wrestle both physically and through their Semblances. Gillian decides to aid Yatsuhashi, transferring Jax's Aura to him, and the Huntsman uses his Semblance to wipe Jax completely clean of all his memories, lobotomizing Jax and leaving him in a vegetable state. Following this, Gillian and the rest of the loyal Crown members are arrested, incarcerated in the city.
