Plot[]
Now in possession of the Ultimate Power, Zero approaches One, Axel, and Raymond, who prepare themselves to battle against him. When Raymond begins to panic, One tells him that they have no choice but to fight. As a result, Raymond activates the remaining power of their armor enhancements, doubling their power but also doubling their energy consumption, which will result in fatigue. Zero then attacks, eager to fight them.
Carolina, meanwhile, continues her battle against Diesel. She struggles to figure out how to defeat him, as Diesel uses his own summoned creatures to attack her. Luckily, Carolina eventually manages to find Diesel's weak spot - his lower hip - and strikes him there repeatedly. She then attaches a belt of grenades to his weak spot, causing Diesel to furiously express his revenge on her before exploding. Following his demise, Carolina takes Diesel's Great weapon and rushes to join the others.
Shatter Squad battles Zero but the latter is able to outmatch and block every one of their attacks. Despite this, Shatter Squad continue to fight, using their armor abilities to their advantage. Zero, however, counters with his own armor abilities and with the power of The Armor. When he brings the trio to their knees, Zero charges at Raymond for the kill but is intercepted by Carolina. She and Ray then fight Zero together and manage to push him back. As Zero gets himself together, the Black Lotus mocks his resolve and calls him pathetic for having not yet defeated Shatter Squad even with the help of The Armor. This angers Zero and he proceeds to attack everyone furiously. While the group hold their own, Zero unleashes an attack targeted at Raymond, prompting One and Carolina to rush to his defense. As One saves Ray, Carolina defends them and takes the blast herself, leaving her weakened and unable to continue fighting.
Meanwhile, West continues to faceoff against Phase and East. After managing to divide the two, he focuses his efforts on East. He grabs East and plants a grenade on her, telling her that he's sorry. East explodes and rejoins with Phase. Phase then confronts a weakened West to kill him once and for all. West explains that he's ready to die and tells Phase he will always love her. She then knocks him out and yells furiously.
Back at the vault, Zero attempts to kill a weakened Carolina but Axel acknowledges that the old Zero would never kill a defenseless opponent. Just then, the Black Lotus interrupts Zero and claims he is not worthy to wield the Ultimate Power. Zero, once again, grows angry and attacks Shatter Squad. As he attempts to finish them off, Phase attacks him and allies herself with Shatter Squad. The team realize that Zero is losing control of his power and is growing unstable. To make matters worse for Zero, the Black Lotus tells him that time is running out and suggests that he take over. Zero, however, refuses to be used like a puppet again and states that the power belongs to him.
As he grows more unstable, Shatter Squad and Phase work together to take him down. They fight all at once with coordinated attacks that Zero is unable to keep up with. As they gain the upper-hand, One takes the lead and orders Ray, Axel, and Phase on what to do. Ray hangs back to provide range support with his Rocket Launcher while Axel stays close to One and Phase, who fight together on the frontlines. One's strategy proves to be successful as Shatter Squad overcome and outmaneuver all of Zero's attacks. When Axel and Raymond distract Zero with their attacks, Phase throws her blade above Zero in preparation to teleport above him. Before she does, she offers her hand to One so they can teleport together. The girls do so and attack Zero together, knocking him to the ground. As he gets back up, Phase delivers the final blow by igniting the multiple grenades she planted on Zero's back, causing a huge explosion. Though he survived, Zero is devastated that he was defeated. The Black Lotus compliments Shatter Squad on their efforts and leaves with Zero, telling him that they have a long and painful path ahead of them.
One takes Zero's sword for herself just as Tiny contacts the group to inform them that West will make a recovery. She adds that she is contacting the Alliance of Defense for support and evac. Phase then tells the trio to call her by her name, "Danyell". One and Axel then reveal their own real names, "Jamie" and "Lance" respectively, which shocks Raymond, who was unaware they were using codenames the entire time. Danyell then helps up Carolina, who is proud the former chose the right team. As Shatter Squad head back home they contemplate on trying out a team-building exercise but struggle to come to a decision they can all agree on.
