Neo Tokyo Homefront

Neo-Tokyo was a city in Japan rebuild after the destruction of Tokyo during the Rain of Death. It was made during the Reconstruction Era by the United Earth Government who designated it a Special Economic Zone and supplied it with vast resources. It grew quickly and became the capital of Japan Quadrant and was the central hub of the far east sector. As many cities made after the Rain of Death, much of it was made underground in a series of caverns and tunnels to protect the population in case another global attack occurred. There were numerous elevators and superhighways that were regulated and 1 underground part known as the Guard Grid used an evolved forme of the Enhanced Video Emulation used by the SDF-1 to simulate a sky inside with a day and night cycle. Many districts varied from high rise buildings to recreations of the area before the Zentraedi holocaust. The lower class outcastes of the city went to the outskirts of cramped slums between maintenance facilities and industrial zones. The Robotech Research Center stands tall and replaced the one that was destroyed as well as stretching above and below the city whilst being run by Dr. Lazlo Zand succeeding Dr. Emil Lang. Remnants of the Global War lingered as the Far East Sector was part of a military alliance called the Northern Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere that many in it did not desire a unified world nation. Since the Zentraedi Rain of Death there were many Anti Unification sentiments among other groups, so to handle the Orphaned Generation's disgruntled lifestyle, the local government promoted Traditional Social Norms yet it did little to sway the youth who often joined The Yakuza. After the Second Robotech War and the fall of the local government, the Yakza took over and planned to wait out the Invid Occupation of Earth by moving their people to the inner areas of the city. While the plan partly worked, many areas became infected with Invid Hives and farms for the Flower of Life. The Invid did not come to the lower city but Protoculture supplies ran low in it and with no way to get more, many parts of the city shut down with those inside trapped in a worsening situation.

According to 1 source, Lancer was in Neo-Tokyo to study Kabuki.
