Fang Yuan (古月方源, Gu Yue Fang Yuan, lit. Ancient Moon Fang Yuan) is the protagonist of Reverend Insanity. Formerly a Scholar from Earth, he mysteriously transmigrated into the Gu World where he lived his first life for 500 years. He started as a common clan member before growing into a Gu Immortal and Sect Master of the Demonic Path. At the very end of this 500 Year Life, Fang Yuan was cornered by his foes and forced to use the power of his newly refined Spring Autumn Cicada to travel back in time to the days of his youth.
In the Five Regions And Two Heavens, Fang Yuan became infamous for being one of the strongest demonic overlords of his time. He is someone who wreaks havoc wherever he goes in constant pursuit of Eternal Life, scheming and fighting against far more powerful enemies and ancient organizations.
Appearance[]
Fang Yuan had plain facial features which did not make him stand out. However, after the events of Yi Tian Mountain he snatched the Sovereign Immortal Body from Shadow Sect which became his new physical body. This new physique was incredibly handsome with youthful traits that made him appear almost otherworldly.
He usually wears simple white robes with wide sleeves. Initially shorter, his midnight black hair reaches all the way to his waist. Fang Yuan's most noticeable trait are his jet black eyes which seem to almost contain the dark abyss itself.
Detailed Traits[]
Immortal Zombie[]
As an Immortal Zombie, Fang Yuan was over six meters tall with bulging muscles. He had eight zombie arms, including a pair of human arms, an arm from a modified version of Earth Chief Zombie, and five other arms, each originating from the 5 Great Flying Zombies. His skin was a dark green colour as a result of zombie speckles. He also had a miniature pair of bat wings on his back. He had sharp fangs instead of teeth as well as a pair of blood-red eyes instead of his former black eyes. His black hair grew even longer as a result of his increased size. This form was so terrifying that the mere sight of it used to cause ordinary people's hearts to be gripped by a sense of fear generated from a formless pressure.[14]
Sovereign Immortal Body[]
Fang Yuan now looks like a seventeen-year-old young man. His skin is white, but it is not pale white and neither feminine pinkish-white. His hair is black and lustrous, extending to his waist. Each strand of his hair is durable and thick, resembling thin steel wires. His body is athletic and there is no excess flesh on his entire body. The bridge of his nose is high, and the most attractive features are his eyes, (starlight was shining at the beginning in his eyes but it later became muted). His eyes are dark and deep like a bottomless abyss. His lips give off a rosy and healthy glow and are almost always tightly pursed together, showing his mental state of being determined and unwavering.[15]

The initial appearance of Fang Yuan's Soul was that of a man with the physical traits of a wild wolf.
Hundred Million Man Soul[]
Fang Yuan's soul looks identical to his main body, it can float and can interfere with physical matter, appearing solid.
Desolate Soul[]
Initially it looks identical to the Hundred Million Man Soul, the only difference being that the Desolate Soul can't fly on its own.[16] After cultivating for a long time and getting inspirations from Qing Chou and Spectral Soul Demon Venerable's demonic soul form, Fang Yuan's soul changed into a pitch-black giant who possess two heads and hundreds of hands with claws. The soul was so large that when it bent its leg a huge shadow was cast on the ground. It can directly reach the sky with clouds floating beside its shoulder.[13]
Due to the flaw in desolate soul cultivation, Fang Yuan had to refine his soul back to hundred million man soul, losing this soul form.
Luck[]
Initially a gargantuan black coffin which signified death.
Later, his luck transformed into a giant pillar accompanied by surging flames that were bright-red like blood. The flames carried a touch of black.
Before his ascension as a Venerable, his battle strength was equal to Rank Eight, rivaling Duke Long, and he was in possession of many Immortal Gu, Immortal Gu Houses, and Immortal Killer Moves. As a result, his luck became grand and vast.
Blood-red flame means slaughter. The black color at the ends of the flame means a deadly situation. The deadly black aura has corrupted the surface of the pillar, it is trying to get in, this means that his death threat is coming from an external source, obviously Heavenly Court. Heavenly Court had yet to repair fate Gu, once they succeed, the black death qi would definitely expand by several times, eventually corrupting his entire luck pillar.”
Within the huge pillar, there were countless faint phantom images flickering continuously. At times, a red lotus, a white crane, a beast phantom, or a lump of soil.[17]
After becoming a venerable his luck takes the form of a furnace.

Personality[]
Fang Yuan's current personality developed over the course of 500 years of his first life in the Gu World, as he lived among ordinary mortals, Gu Masters and Gu Immortals, which gave him deep wisdom and understanding on the various aspects of life. He has a complex personality with a breadth and depth of opinions as well as a mindset vastly different from his peers.
- He is a man of endless focus and perseverance. Despite being more powerful than his enemies many times, he never underestimates them and remains eternally vigilant when it comes to planning and executing his schemes, always calculating his chances realistically, expecting failures to happen and making contingencies for those possible failures.
- Fang Yuan truly only counts on himself and never fully relies on others when it matters, as he sees only his own strength as the greatest and most reliable assurance.[18]
- He is a true demonic cultivator without moral restraints and his actions reflect that of a true opportunist, therefore, he is able to betray and sacrifice anyone at will, regardless of their supposed relationship, as long as this action benefits him and yields a greater gain. Compared to others influenced by compassion to not take action against weaker opponents, Fang Yuan is more than willing to take them on, only if the enemy is beyond Fang Yuan's strength or ability would he mindfully retreats
- To Fang Yuan, coldness, arrogance, humility, conceit, all of these are masks, they are tools for him to obtain profits. But because of this trait, he also causes many to distrust and be wary of him.[19]
- While Fang Yuan seems to be cold and emotionless, he in fact does feel emotion. However his past experiences and the harshness of Gu World have made him very cynical and hardened. In this regard he is more akin to a high functioning sociopath and can rationalize away most of his harsh actions as being pragmatic but unlike a psychopath that feels almost no emotion, there are things that can move or stir up his feelings. For instance, using rules and strategy against his opponents is his preference however he rarely takes a more direct method of handling his enemies proving he has something of an ego and pride. While he deftly countered his uncles schemes he had enough knowledge and ability that simply killing his uncle while making it look accidental was possible which would have made things easier for him as his aunt was not nearly as clever nor a real threat. Further, he intentionally went out of his way to kill his aunt and uncle later when there was no practical reason and enjoyed it meaning he still held some resentment towards them.
- Fang Yuan shows most of his brilliance in scheming against his enemies by using tactics instead of brute strength and is proficient at finding out his enemy's weak points and making use of it to its fullest potential.
- After experiencing many things in his 500 years of life, he came to the conclusion that everything was worthless in front of eternal life. Unlike others who are consumed with fame, glory, beauty, repute, worldly riches, and (intimate) relationships, Fang Yuan has abandoned those ephemeral pursuits in favor of gaining immortality— even if it means dying.[20]
- While utterly merciless to opponents or people he sacrifices for his goals and ambitions, in daily life, Fang Yuan is reserved and polite. As he doesn't care about face or status and is indifferent to the opinions of others towards him, he generally treats the random people he might meet in his travels politely as if they were friends. Further, he never takes things personally and has no issues forgiving minor slights or mistakes, particularly if the other party bears him no ill-will. He once stopped a mortal father from severely beating his daughter (as he was afraid for her safety and believed a Gu master would severely injure or kill her if she were not punished) for bumping into Fang Yuan (who had high status as a Gu Master) and Fang Yuan told her it was a small matter and he didn't mind.
- Fang Yuan's character has deep similarities to the concept of the 'Machiavellian' who is a person so focused on their own interests they will manipulate, deceive, and exploit others to achieve their goals. He cares about nothing but his own interests. To him there are no permanent allies nor permanent enemies. There are only permanent benefits. Even in the face of total failure he stands unfazed and calm. Even having a smile as he dies, because he lived true to himself even as a true demon. He is neutral towards the world and life itself, doing whatever necessary for his single wish. Only when following rules that benefit him will he then abides. If disregarding the rules will benefits him he does so without hesitation. Fang yuan does a cost-benefit analysis every time he makes a decision, he'll do "righteous" things if they benefit him more and "evil" things if they benefit him more. He feels absolutely no sense of obligation to allies or people who help him.
- Fang Yuan doesn't have any sort of urge to treat people cruelly if there's no reason. He simply will disregard anything that isn't helpful to his goal of immortality. The relationship with his brother from the beginning was like that; to Fang Yuan, he was not of any value whatsoever and he planned to ditch the village in the future, so he disregarded and ignored him. He didn't bother being friendly since he saw no value. He also is able to seamlessly act as a righteous path member whenever it suits him. The only thing that matters is whether conforming to their behavior is of value for his goal.
He often mentioned that he does not believe in eternal enemies, only in eternal benefits and as such would trade and form alliances with (previous) enemies if it benefits him.[21]
Background[]
Growing up in the Gu Yue Clan, Fang Yuan was highly praised for his early intelligence and was considered as a genius of the younger generation. He was able to start talking after only three months, able to walk after four and at five years of age, he was able to recite poetry. Those talents are the result of a transmigrated, mature, and intelligent soul that carried its experiences over. Some of the poetry he recited were Earth’s popular ancient poems.
Unfortunately for him, at the annual awakening ceremony, he was only found to have C grade aptitude while his little brother Fang Zheng had an A grade aptitude. With this, he was immediately judged as worthless and trash in regards to his future cultivation prospects and as a result, the people of the clan ostracized him and treated him like scum. During this time he greatly suffered in the clan until finally deciding on leaving with a traveling caravan.
In the years to come, he experienced all that life had to offer, from friendship, kinship, and love to hatred, sadness, and poverty. He traveled all of the five regions, amassing experiences in different aspects such as life experience, places, and people over the course of his time until chancing upon one of the thousands of inheritances of Blood Sea Ancestor (over 300 years after his transmigration). From the inheritance, he gained Bladewing Blood Bat Gu, a normal Blood Sea Ancestor's inheritance, and through it, he became a blood path cultivator. He later managed to advance to become a blood path Gu Immortal.
During this time, he founded the Blood Wing Demon Sect, a demonic sect consisting of mortals with him as the sole Gu Immortal. His goal to refine a blood path Immortal Gu were futile until he miraculously managed to get his hands on a complete recipe for one of the top Ten Mysterious Gu— Spring Autumn Cicada a time path Immortal Gu with the ability to carry the will and memories of its user to a previous point in time, as legend has it. To refine it he incurred the wrath and enmity of many Gu Immortals and most of the righteous factions, which resulted in a combined attack on him after he successfully refined Spring Autumn Cicada.
abandoning any hope of turning the tides he entrusted his hope and will to Spring Autumn Cicada, detonating himself with it and sending his consciousness upwards the River of Time. Unbeknownst to him at that time, the plot of Heaven's Will succeeded.

Even before Fang Yuan transmigrated, he was a scholar on Earth where he possessed significant enough intelligence to understand the fundamental concepts on different parts of knowledge such as philosophy, psychology, and many other subjects. Fang Yuan had spent the majority of his previous life as a Gu Master.
- He had roamed the Southern Border and the Northern Plains as a Gu Master and is therefore very familiar with hand-to-hand combat.
- He had also spent quite some time in the Eastern Sea, making him very proficient at swimming.
- For quite some time Fang Yuan had also worked as a merchant, making him well versed and experienced in the craft of trading.
- He had been in the righteous path, demonic path, and was even a lone cultivator, he had incredibly rich life experiences.
- He had also once founded a demonic sect and used it to command thousands of troops, which gave him a deep understanding of organizational structures and made him proficient in administrative work.
- He was a demonic path overlord in his previous life, even though he did not have particularly great achievements, he had rich life experience and he had undergone many battles.
- In the five hundred years of his previous life, he had undergone turmoil, torture, glory, falling from grace, all of these had turned him into a strategist, he was adept at plotting against people, this made Fang Yuan very compatible with the cultivation of wisdom path.

First Life[]
- In his previous life, he was most adept at cultivating blood path, allowing him to excel in fights and achieving the grandmaster attainment in blood path.[22]
- Fang Yuan also has a lot of experience regarding enslavement path as he used to control swarms of Bladewing Blood Bat Gu, hence the name of his sect, Blood Wing Demon Sect.[23]
Current Life[]
- At first, he wanted to cultivate time path but following his acquisition of a second aperture and his transformation into an immortal zombie, he was forced to become a strength path Gu Immortal with his original body.[24] His current body is able to cultivate every path without his dao marks interfering with each other, which was a deciding factor for Fang Yuan to cultivate transformation path.[25] To achieve this, he created a time path clone who cultivates time path.

Volume 1 (Chapter 1 - 199): A Demon's Nature Doesn't Change[]
Go on. The road to the future will be interesting.
Fang Yuan, the notorious demonic Gu Master, stands atop a mountain, surrounded by enemies from the righteous factions. These factions include various clans and sects, all united by their fear and hatred of Fang Yuan. Among them are Gu Masters from the righteous path, who corner him, knowing his infamous reputation as an evil cultivator wreaking havoc across the lands.
Fang Yuan, severely wounded and outnumbered, understands that he cannot escape. In a desperate move, Fang Yuan activates the Spring Autumn Cicada, the legendary Rank six Gu known for its unique ability to reverse time. The Spring Autumn Cicada drains all of Fang Yuan’s life force and cultivation to achieve its effect, which cause Fang Yuan's body to detonate leaving his enemies in shock. Instead of dying, Fang Yuan’s soul, carrying the essence of the Spring Autumn Cicada, transcends time and returns to the past five hundred years earlier.
Fang Yuan awakens in the Gu Yue village, back in his fifteen-year-old body. He finds himself in a familiar room that belongs to his family in the village. The room is modest, reflecting the low status of his family in the Gu Yue clan. Despite his weakened body, Fang Yuan retains all his memories and experiences from his past life, giving him an unmatched advantage.
Using his advantage, Fang Yuan begins to plan for his future until the morning of the next day getting minimal sleep. The next day, Gu Yue Clan holds the aptitude test, where each young member of the clan must have their aptitude tested to become a Gu master. When Fang Yuan’s turn comes, he steps forward with a composed demeanor, knowing that his talent was only C-grade. He remains calm, understanding that his future knowledge and experience will allow him to overcome this limitation.
With his aperture opened, Fang Yuan officially begins his journey as a Gu Master. With ample knowledge from the future, Fang Yuan first gains the Flower Wine Monk's inheritance and gains the liquor worm from it, intending to make it his vital gu which almost did not happen. During his refinement of this gu, he finds out that Spring Autumn Cicada also came back in time with him, thus becoming his vital gu. This became a welcome surprise as well as a looming threat for Fang Yuan. On one hand, he could use Spring Autumn Cicada's aura to subdue gu worms of lower rank and refine them, on the other hand Spring Autumn Cicada could destroy his aperture.
To supplement his low aptitude, Fang Yuan extorts his classmates in the academy for primeval stones for cultivation, and soars through even with his low aptitude. In this process, he has a huge falling out with his brother, Fang Zheng, who feels as if he has always been in his brother's shadow, and essentially gets disowned by his aunt and uncle.
During the merchant caravan, Fang Yuan manages to attract many people's attention by getting the Mud-skin toad Gu from a gambling tent, and meets Jia Jin Sheng, who he kills due to unforeseen circumstances when doing a transaction, and finding out that the inheritance had more to offer. This gives a lot of trouble for Fang Yuan as, Jia Fu, Jia Jin Sheng's brother, not only interrogates him but also sends a letter to Divine Investigator Tie Xeu Leng to uncover the mystery of his brother's death.
After a year in the academy, Fang Yuan beats Fang Zheng, and chooses a small group to become a part of unknowingly choosing his uncle's people who try and stop him from getting his parent's inheritance. But Fang Yuan succeeds, and gains large benefits.
With the start of a huge wolf tide, Fang Yuan meets with Bai Ning Bing, who is also a natural born demon like Fang Yuan; someone who seeks the thrill of life. The two fights, where Fang Yuan manipulate the situation where he manages to "flee" while also weakening Bai Ning Bing to plunder many gu worms from him. Eventually Fang Yuan managed to become rank three gu master, which also made him eligible to become an elder of Gu Yue Clan. He would develop a benevolent reputation as an elder, blaming his youth for his previous deeds.
Eventually, Fang Yuan uncovers more of Flower Wine Monk's inheritance to find Heavenly Essence Treasure lotus, which he wants to steal, but cannot as it was in a "damaged" state. Around the same time, Tie Xue Leng and his daughter Tie Ruo Nan, arrive at Gu Yue Clan for the investigation of Jia Jin Sheng's death, almost uncovering the truth
During a crucial battle between the Gu Yue, Bai, and Xiong clan, Fang Yuan attempts to steal the Heavenly Essence Treasure lotus, but is stopped by First Generation Gu Yue Ancestor and Tie Xue Leng. In the ensuing battle, Fang Yuan barely escapes with the Heavenly Essence Treasure lotus, but is in dire straits as he lands in the crossfire of the three clan battle arena. Bai Ning Bing, once again, attempts to fight Fang Yuan but is stopped due to the appearance of Immortal Crane Sect's Lord Sky Crane.
Immortal Crane Sect's Lord Sky Crane and First Generation Gu Yue Ancestor, who have some history with each other, battle; during which First Generation Gu Yue Ancestor is in a disadvantageous position as he had just fought against Tie Xue Leng. Thus, he asks for help from his descendants (Gu Yue Clan Members) and the other tribes. He even asks for primeval stones, and upon getting them immediately begins to massacre the entirety of his descendants for Blood skull Gu.
Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing are cornered, when Bai Ning Bing sacrifices himself to save Fang Yuan it was in vain. Knowing there is no other way, Fang Yuan self-detonates using Spring Autumn Cicada.
This time Fang Yuan waits and offers Heavenly Essence Treasure lotus to First Generation Gu Yue Ancestor, but instead throws him to Lord Sky Crane and gets the Blood skull Gu, and Yin-Yang Rotation Gu. Thus, when cornered by Lord Sky Crane and Bai Ning Bing self-detonates, Fang Yuan uses the Yin Gu to save him, with the side effect of the gu transforming the latter into a woman. In the end, Fang Yuan successfully passed the predicament with a great profit and left Qing Mao Mountain with female Bai Ning Bing.
Volume 2 (Chapter 200 - 405): The Demon Leaves the Mountain[]
Kill them all, gain notoriety through killing. Kill until these people tremble in fear, only then will they not dare to lightly provoke us.
After escaping from Qing Mao Mountain and avoiding the pursuit of the Tie Clan, Fang Yuan's journey took him to Bai Gu Mountain where he wreaked havoc and fled to the Shang Clan City. By escorting Shang Clan city lord's daughter, Shang Xin Ci, to safety, Fang Yuan and Bai Ning Bing managed to acquire a foundation and ample resources from the city with ease due to a token given by the city lord. After finishing their business, they left for San Cha Mountain, to participate in the Three Kings Inheritance.
During the Three Kings Inheritance, Fang Yuan fights most strength path Gu masters, and kills them for his future schemes. After entering the Inheritance for the first time, Fang Yuan gains a Travel Token, which he uses immediately and finds out that Bai Ning Bing was trapped by Tie Clan's Four old timers. Fang Yuan knowing this was a scheme by Tie Clan to trap both him and Bai Ning Bing, doesn't help out immediately instead goes into closed cultivation until the Three Kings Inheritance entrance opens again, this time entering King Xin Inheritance, where he gains enough refinement materials to refine a Gu which allows him to fly.
Fang Yuan then ambushes Tie clan reinforcements, and almost manages to kill all of them. This event leads to Tie Ba Xiu, to come and guard the entrance and many demonic Gu masters come to balance the situation. After months of waiting and when the entrance was safe to enter, Fang Yuan enters the King Bao Inheritance, where he allows the minimen to "kill" him and is teleported to the blessed land.
With the help of Ba Gui, the land spirit, he gains the recipe for Second Aperture Gu, and begins refining it. During this process, he kills many Gu masters within the Inheritance, gaining many information such as shadow sect. After the refinement the Gu, he is cornered by Bai Ning Bing and Tie Ruo Nan, and barely manages escape using the second aperture gu as bait, only to be captured by the Tie clan's four old-timers.
Fang Yuan, left with no choice, self detonates and uses Spring Autumn Cicada, rebirthing just when he was about to kill a Rank 5 Gu master.
With his future knowledge, Fang Yuan schemes against the Three Kings Inheritance participants, refining another immortal Gu in accordance with Legend of Ren Zu steps, and escaping under everyone's noses.
Volume 3 (Chapter 406 - 649): The Demon Wreaks Chaos in the World[]
The human body is merely a sack of flesh, I was just changing the sack, what was the point of making such a fuss?
Fang Yuan managed to escape San Cha Mountain and snatch Hu Immortal Blessed Land from the Central Continent's Ten Great Ancient Sects. Due to the Earthly calamity, Dang Hun Mountain was in dire danger of getting destroyed. After meticulous planning, he decided to travel to Northern Plains in order to obtain the Immortal Gu Landscape As Before from a soon-to-be Gu Immortal, Tai Bai Yun Sheng.
To avoid unnecessary trouble, Fang Yuan visited a certain place in order to disguise himself as a Northern Plains native, Chang Shan Yin. He begins his enslavement path cultivation by enslaving wolves. Fang Yuan helps the mid-size tribe, Ge Tribe, climb up the reputation ladder, taking down many tribes who stood in his way. He acquainted with Lang Ya Land Spirit as Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable's Inheritor, which was a lien't (In his previous life, Ma Hong Yun was supposed to inherit this opportunity, but it is highly likely to be a scheme left by Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable for Fang Yuan), and only knew of this information due to the fact that he was from the future. He then asked Lang Ya Land Spirit to refine many Gu for him, and eventually getting the Second Aperture Gu again, and choosing to become a strength path Gu master, with All-out Effort Gu as his second vital gu.
He then became a part of Hei Tribe alliance. Eventually, after many battles for the struggles to enter Imperial court, between the various tribes in Northern Border. Fang Yuan helps Hei Tribe alliance get into Imperial court, after many battle with the Northern Tribe Super Forces like Dong Fang Tribe, Liu Tribe, and Ma Tribe. After which, he enters the imperial court and through his previous life's memories of the Central Continent Gu immortals attacking Imperial Court, is able to use their schemes to gain the largest benefits.
He eventually gains the Di Qui inheritance, and is plagued with the will of Mo Yao's fake will. Mo Yao gives Fang Yuan some useful advice on various things, even helping him make the Killer move: Zombie Transformation. For this, Fang Yuan experiments on many Gu Masters.
He also helps Hei Lou Lan conquer Eighty-Eight True Yang Building, but is secretly scheming against her as well as the will of her ancestor.
Volume 4 (Chapter 650 - 1021): The Demon Lord Rampages Unhindered[]
To think that one day, I, Gu Yue Fang Yuan, would turn into an idiot.
After the events in the Imperial Court Blessed Land and its destruction, Fang Yuan managed to escape back to Hu Immortal Blessed Land. Although he managed to acquire one of Eighty-Eight True Yang Building's true inheritances, in order to preserve his life, he turned himself into a zombie, causing his cultivation progress to stagnate. Now, Fang Yuan must find a way to get rid of his zombie status, regaining a living human body, while avoiding the search of Northern Plain's Gu Masters and dealing with Immortal Crane Sect's plan to attack and recapture Hu Immortal Blessed Land. He then invented the Airsac Gu with the help of the Strength Qi Immortal Gu by the illumination of the Wisdom Gu he brought from the Northern Plains, which can pack Guts Gus, and made a deal with the Immortal Crane Sect to avoid a battle.
Not long after, he went to the Starry Sky Grotto Heaven with Hei Lou Lan. There, they encountered the Dream World for the first time. They also gained a lot of desolate beasts corpses to sell and give to Lang Ya Land Spirit. Shortly after, he went to the Northern Plains to join the Northern Plains Zombie Alliance, trying to gain information on how to transform back (rebirth) into a human. He also gained the Unfamiliar Face killer move from Lang Ya Land Spirit, in order to join the big auction in the blessed land of Qin Bai Sheng that was going to happen, and did Lang Ya Land Spirit the favor of selling the blessed lands of the invader of Lang Ya Blessed Land.
Volume 4 ended with the battle of Yi Tian Mountain, having many Gu masters and immortals died trying to get a Gu House, but actually is also an attempt of Spectral Soul Demon Venerable to revive by using the Immortal Fetus Gu, which is finally taken by Fang Yuan. Fang Yuan was able to achieve this because he was used as a pawn by the Heaven's Will, having used the Spring Autumn Cicada again to gain the dream realm inheritance of Star Constellation Immortal Venerable whose will had actually assimilated with the Heaven's Will. He also defended Lang Ya Blessed Land from the attack of the Shadow Sect, lead by Qin Bai Sheng who was in disguise, and Fang Yuan was accepted as an external supreme elder of the newly founded Lang Ya Sect by the second personality of Lang Ya Land Spirit.
Volume 5 (Chapter 1022 - 1966) Demon King's Domination[]
This is a shortcut for cultivation, filled with slaughter and blood. But… I like it. I want chaos, the more chaos, the better!
The war on Yi Tian Mountain is over. Countless Gu Immortals are dead, Heavenly Court retreated, Spectral Soul is trapped, while Fang Yuan managed to come out on top. However, due to the intervention of Heaven's Will, Fang Yuan was now stranded in Southern Border with no means of transportation and was left with only a few of his Gu Worms. With his secrets exposed, his only option was to go to Lang Ya Blessed Land in Northern Plains. Meanwhile, Ying Wu Xie, having possessed Fang Yuan's body, is forced to bear the brunt of Fang Yuan's past actions.
Fang Yuan went back to Lang Ya Sect and cultivated, and managed his immortal aperture. He also took the time path inheritance in Hei Fan Grotto Heaven and obtained many Gu Immortals who were guarding it by deceiving them.
Not long after, he went to Southern Border to take part in the dream path exploration by killing Wu Yi Hai and used the Familiar Face to become him, being the brother of the leader of Wu Clan, the greatest righteous force in Southern Border. After having his attainments upgraded, he then created various killer moves, and chased Ying Wu Xie to the Eastern Sea and to Northern Plain, not realizing he was involved with the conflict between the Shadow Sect, the Demonic Gu Immortals in Xue Hu Mountain, Longevity heaven, and Zhao Lian Yun and the Heavenly Court backing her. The battle ended with Fang Yuan obtaining the Reverse Flow River and Perseverance Gu, and with the water grandmaster attainment, he created Myriad Self - Second Style - Reverse Flow Protection Seal to flee.
After returning to the Southern Border, he did several missions and obtained some trust from 'his brother' Wu Yong and was stationed back near the Dream Field. Not long after, Shadow Sect attacked the Gu formation surrounding the Dream Field, and was ambushed by the Heavenly Court. The battle ended, and Purple died, giving Fang Yuan the authority of being the leader of Shadow Sect and all his memories and resources. Duke Long of Heavenly Court caught the Soul of Spectral Soul. Fang Yuan used the heavenly crystals to feed his bird to become a memorial desolate beast, and fled the scene with Hei Lou Lan, Bai Ning Bing, Lady White Rabbit, Fairy Miao Yin, Ying Wu Xie, and the rest of the failed Pure Dream Reality Seeker Physique products.
After annexing Lang Ya Blessed Land, Fang Yuan returns to Rank 8.[28]
