Princess Dot is the tritagonist of Pixar's 2nd full-length animated feature film A Bug's Life.
She is the daughter of the Queen, the younger sister of Princess Atta, and the best friend of Flik.
She is voiced by Hayden Panettiere.
What's Makes her Pure Good?[]
- After Flik is criticized by Princess Atta for delaying the harvest with his inventions, she chases after Flik and tells him she likes his inventions, empathizing with his desire to make a difference in the colony.
- As Flik leaves Ant Island to look for other bugs to help, Dot is there to wish him good luck on his journey and constantly watches for him to see when he returns.
- She tries to help Flik after noticing him chasing after the circus bugs.
- When Flik and the circus bugs are banished by the queen for lying, Dot is against the decision and tries to go after Flik before being stopped by her mother.
- After the grasshoppers return and take over Ant Island, she takes the Blueberries to hide in their secret clubhouse.
- As Dot overhear Hopper's plan to kill the Queen to establish his authority over the ants from one of the Grasshoppers, she decides to go get help and flies to get Flik back, nearly dying in the process as she is chased by Thumper.
- When she finds Flik and the circus bugs, she urges them to return home and reveals Hopper's plan. When Flik refuses to help out of shame for his lies and general ineptitude, she comforts him by using the same analogy Flik had used to comfort her before. This manages to reinvigorate the ant, who hugs Dot in gratitude.
- She goes with Flik and the rest of the Blueberries to the fake bird in order to try and scare Hopper away from the island.
- After being confronted by Thumper for a third time, she finally overcomes her fear and stands up to the grasshopper, ordering him to go home with the help of Dim who roars to scare him away.
- Though she shows anger towards being small and not being able to fly, her frustration is understandable, and she never unjustly lashes out at anyone because of it.
- She manages to stand out as one of the most heroic characters in the movie due to her pivotal role in warning Flik about Hopper's plans, as well as her smaller size and more limited resources compared to the other characters.
