John Smith and Abel Hynes are the two villainous protagonists of the unfinished series Complete Backstory Of Five Nights At Freddy's. They were mad scientists who wanted to achieve immortality through unlawful experimentation of children. With them creating a laboratory to conduct their heinous acts that would eventually go onto become Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria.
What Makes Them Pure Evil?[]
- They conducted horrific, inhumane experiments on children, most of which were either homeless or Jewish via torturing them relentlessly in a high security laboratory all with the intent of gaining immortality.
- Their horrific experiments on children ultimately leads to dozens of them dying, with two of them going onto possessing the chicken and rabbit animatronics that they had created.
- While they tried to justify their inhumane actions by saying that the torture of small helpless children was okay because it would serve a greater cause for science, this is very clearly a delusional excuse to mitigate their heinous actions, rather than genuinely believing that something good was coming out of it. With this being proven by the fact that it is mentioned that they only told themselves these things to keep themselves sane during the experiments.
- While they do have a villainous friendship with each other, their relationship is not explored in enough depth to be considered mitigating, with it being likely that they were simply working together due to how useful each other's skills were, rather than any genuine care.
- While they don't have a single line of dialogue throughout the two-parter, they are still given more than enough characterization as they are described as immortality seeking maniacs who are willing to sink to the lowest levels of depravity to get what they want. With Abel being given even more characterization with him being a Nazi who formerly served in World War II and having an unjust hatred against Jewish people, to the point where he even programmed one of his robots to specifically target kids who believed in Judaism.
Trivia[]
- Interestingly, these two share similarities to Five Nights at Freddy's main antagonist, William Afton who is also Pure Evil. With William also wanting to kill children and harvest their soul energy to gain immortality. Funnily enough, this is completely coincidental, as John and Abel were created prior to William even making his proper debut.
- There was a planned third part to the Complete Backstory Of Five Nights At Freddy's, however said final part never came out, likely due to Five Nights at Freddy's 2 releasing and debunking this entire timeline. It is unknown if these two would've kept their Pure Evil status had this third part ever released.
