Appearance[]
Lusamine has green eyes and her hair is blonde with silver streaks and extraordinarily long reaching well past her knees. She somewhat resembles a Pheromosa. Her hair is smooth and glossy, with a slight wave towards the ends. The texture of her hair appears to be smooth and silky. Lusamine's hair is styled wrapping around her body. Her bangs also fall over her left eye slightly covering it. She wears a short sleeveless white dress with yellow frills. Lusamine has a pair of black and white leggings that reach down to her ankles. She wears black high heels with black gemstones on both sides of each foot. The heels are golden and have green soles. Lusamine also wears a large diamond badge on her chest.
Motherbeast[]
When Lusamine fuses with a Nihilego and transforms into Motherbeast Lusamine, her design is altered to combine elements from both Lusamine and Nihilego, with the fusion predominantly representing Lusamine. In this new form, Motherbeast Lusamine has several tentacles featuring eyes with gem-shaped pupils. Her legs emerge from a bell-like structure, transitioning from deep purple to black as they reach her waist. The dress she wears has purple frills and a black underlayer. The sleeveless dress shifts from bright white with a line across the chest to a dull gray without any details. Motherbeast Lusamine's upper body is enclosed within the bell, and her eyes change to yellow from their usual green. Her left eye is partially obscured by her bangs. Her hair becomes a dark purple with yellow streaks, appearing much smoother, thicker, and longer, as it flows outward and rests at the bottom of the bell, covering her arms while leaving only her shoulders visible. This transformation results in her hair being significantly larger than it was before the fusion, a change attributed to Nihilego's gelatinous structure, which stretches Lusamine's hair. The movement of her hair resembles jellyfish tendrils rather than traditional hair, drifting and swaying softly due to its new texture, which is silky because of Nihilego's influence. Notably, the ends of her hair resemble jellyfish stingers. Furthermore, Lusamine's gemstone, which was previously located at the back of her hair, has vanished, along with the ponytail it was attached to—likely because her hair expanded during the fusion with Nihilego. As Motherbeast Lusamine, all of Lusamine's previous accessories are gone, with the exception of her collar. Her high heels and diamond badge on her chest are also absent. These changes, including the elongation and smoothing of her hair and the removal of her accessories, were likely made to enhance her resemblance to a jellyfish rather than a human.
Personality[]
Sun and Moon[]
Lusamine was originally shown to be a kindhearted lady who is willing to "create a utopia for Pokémon". In truth, however, she seeks for beautiful things she could "own". Though her daughter and son both try to warn her about the dangers, Lusamine does not forgive them for betraying her, showing utter coldness, as she does not want anything to stand in her way to obtain the power from the Ultra Beasts. Ultimately, she wishes to live in a world that consists only of her and Nihilego, which she views as a surrogate family that is completely obedient to her. She is also extremely manipulative, taking advantage of Guzma's inferiority complex to befriend him and convince him to serve as a hidden mercenary for the Aether Foundation.
Despite this, it is implied that Lusamine was a genuinely kind person at one time, but, after her husband Mohn was lost in the Ultra Beast's world, grief drove her insane. After her defeat and forceful separation from her Nihilego, she seems to regain some of her sanity and comments that she finds Lillie "beautiful" before collapsing into a coma.
Motherbeast Lusamine lacks any personality other than wanting to live in a world with only her in it as the Motherbeast.
Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon[]
She is shown to be a more decent person than she was in the previous games. First, she is now motivated by a desire to protect the Pokémon and people she loves from Necrozma and a desire to reunite with her husband after he disappeared into an Ultra Wormhole. Thus, her willingness to create a utopia for Pokémon is more genuine. Though her children worry about her disappearing like their father, Lusamine still shows utter disappointment in them for betraying her yet reassures them that she will still protect them from Necrozma, thus showing that, for all her abrasiveness towards her children, she still loves them from the bottom of her heart.
Lusamine is also shown to prove that she is capable of recognizing her errors and feeling remorse for her actions; thus, she is able to reconcile with her children and the Aether Foundation.
Biography[]
Sun and Moon[]
Lusamine welcomes the player character and others into the Aether Foundation. When Hau tells her that he thinks she is no older than them, she calls him a sweet boy and admits that she's over 40, surprising Hau. Suddenly an Ultra Wormhole opens in the Aether Foundation with Nihilego coming out of it, the Player then battles Nihilego causing Nihilego to disappear with Lusamine wanting to save and love it.
However, once her plans are exposed, she prepares to open a wormhole to the other world where the Ultra Beasts originate from. Lusamine shows utter coldness towards Lillie for taking Nebby away and escaping, reflecting on the time Lillie was younger and obeyed her every command. Lillie yells for her mother to stop, as Cosmog could potentially die. Lusamine laughs and tells Lillie that she used to be very pretty, but is ugly now. Lusamine orders Guzma to attack them. She succeeds in opening the wormhole with Nihilego coming out before the two shortly vanish after to Ultra Space.

Lusamine as the Motherbeast
The player and Lillie arrive in Ultra Space to see Lusamine sitting on a rock beside her Nihilego. Lillie confronts Lusamine to no avail as Lusamine talks of how beautiful Ultra Space is and that Nihilego is all she cares about now. Lusamine throws out her beast ball sending out Nihilego as it descends down as Lusamine puts her arms up fusing with the ultra beast. The fusion causes a drastic change in her appearance as she challenges the player to a battle. After losing to the player Lusamine will appear visibly angry before moving her tentacles around. Lusamine appears in disbelief as she moves her tentacles and floats upwards as she strengthens one of her tentacles to hit the Player and Lillie. Lillie calls upon one of Aloha’s Legendary Pokemon who blast’s Lusamine with energy. Lusamine remains fused with the Nihilego but has her eyes closed with her feet on the surface of ultra space. Lusamine opens her eyes as she starts to float upwards with an evil grin before defusing from Nihilego.
In the end, Lusamine was taken away to recuperate, while her daughter seeks ways to heal her. Later, she leaves for Kanto to seek ailment from Bill, who has already fused and defused with a Pokémon before.
Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon[]
Just like the original games, Lusamine welcomes the player character and others into the Aether Foundation. When Hau tells her that he thinks she's not older than them, she once again calls him a sweet boy and admits that she's over 40.
However, once her plans are exposed, she prepares to open a wormhole to the other world, where Necrozma resides. Lusamine shows utter disappointment towards Lillie for taking Cosmog away and escaping, though reassures her that she will save even her when she protects the world from what Necrozma plans to do with its light. Lillie yells for her mother to stop, as Cosmog could potentially die. Showing understanding of the risk, Lusamine briefly hesitates before going to charge the cage that Cosmog is in. When Gladion pleads her not to disappear like his father did, Lusamine battles the player in order to reassure him and Lillie that she'll be fine. She succeeds in opening the wormhole and vanishes with Guzma.
Once the player character and Lillie reach the Altar, Lusamine re-emerges with Guzma, having been defeated by Necrozma. She tells Lillie and the player character to run from Necrozma, calling it a monster. When Necrozma merges with Alola's legendary Pokémon and disappears into Ultra Space, Lusamine is reprimanded by the Ultra Recon Squad for her recklessness and watches as the player goes into the Ultra Wormhole to stop Necrozma.
In the end, Lusamine reconciles with her daughter and they head back to Aether Paradise to care for the legendary Pokémon, who has become weak due to its light being stolen from it. During the end credits, she comes by the dock to see Gladion off when he goes to Kanto to train, much to his pleasant surprise.
In Episode RR, Lusamine is kidnapped by Team Rainbow Rocket and held hostage by Giovanni. When the player finally reaches Giovanni, Lusamine is seen lying unconscious on the floor. Giovanni states that he has used the power of an Ultra Beast to make her sleep, and claims that he will brainwash her to serve Team Rainbow Rocket. She awakens after Giovanni is defeated and the mansion is restored. Upon finding out about Faba's attempt to betray the Aether Foundation to Team Rainbow Rocket, Lusamine demotes him to intern.
If spoken to after becoming Champion, Lusamine will express remorse for everything she has done, vowing to better herself as a protector of Pokémon and a mother to Gladion and Lillie without interfering with either again. On the first day of every month, Lusamine can appear at the Pokémon League to challenge the player to a Title Defense battle, replacing Faba from Sun and Moon.
After Gladion is defeated at the Pokémon League, Mohn will pay a visit to Aether Paradise, during which Lusamine will see him for the first time since his disappearance. Though surprised to see him once again, she chooses not to tell him about his past, believing that he seems happy enough as he is.

- When the player character battles Lusamine in Ultra Space, all of her Pokémon, except Bewear, will have an angry expression. This is likely due to Nihilego venom amplifying their aggression.
- Lusamine is named after a species of plant known as Garden Balsam. Ironically, Garden Balsam was used as a remedy for poison. Her name may also derive from the term "luminous," given the heavy use of light colors in her design and her desire to improve the world.
- All her Pokémon on Ultra Space have special auras who boost a status on one stage like the Totem Pokémon because her fusion with Nihilego and the Beast Boost.
- When Lusamine fuses with a Nihilego she becomes known as the Motherbeast.
- Lusamine’s hair appears very sharp, however when she is fused with a Nihilego it appears much smoother and thicker.
- As the Motherbeast, Lusamine can make Nihilego's cry, however more distorted.
- Unlike when Bill fused with a Nidorino, Lusamine's fusion as the Motherbeast has both elements of her and Nihilego.
- Motherbeast Lusamine has the longest and thickest hair out of any Pokémon character.
- Many of Nihilego's features of the Motherbeast fusion are aesthetic based.
