Effect[]

In battle[]

Two turns after this move is used, the user blasts the foe with a concentrated bundle of light. On the turn Doom Desire is used, this attack will do nothing other than state that the user has chosen Doom Desire as its destiny. Two turns later, Doom Desire will do damage against the target, using the Sp. Atk stat of the user and the Sp. Def of the target at the time of use. Although Doom Desire is a Steel-type move, it does not get STAB. It also cannot cause a Critical Hit and its damage is not increased by Life Orb. Doom Desire can hit through Wonder Guard, Protect, and Detect. However, Protect and Detect will stop Doom Desire if used on the turn it is first used. It can knock out a target that used Endure, but not one holding a Focus Sash. In Generation V, Doom Desire's power changed from 120 to 140, and its accuracy was changed from 85 to 100. Furthermore, Doom Desire can now receive STAB. Doom Desire no longer uses the Sp. Def of the targeted Pokémon to calculate damage, but instead the Sp. Def of the hit Pokémon.
