Toxic Chomper is the Rare toxic variant of the Chomper in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and a Super rare toxic variant in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. Toxic Chomper replaces the normal Chomp ability with Toxic Spray and can spew poison from his mouth. Toxic Chomper also gives off a toxic aura that minimally damages enemies when in close vicinity to him. However, this toxic aura can alert the enemy of his presence, who may or may not see him coming. Alternatively, his low damage makes him one of the less dangerous toxic variants.
Descriptions[]
Stickerbook description[]

Primary weapon[]
Toxic Spray is the primary weapon of Toxic Chomper. It is a spray weapon that shoots a stream of player-damaging particles when fired. As long as his Toxic Spray is activated, he can affect multiple targets directly in front of him. In GW1, the Toxic Spray does 6 damage continuously at only 240 rpm and doesn't have a spamming exploit (Making his DPS an abysmal 29) however in GW2 his damage is 8 and has the spamming exploit (Making his DPS a much better and more balanced 85), which is much less than a regular chomp, but it has the advantage of affecting a large area and has a minor damage-over-time effect.
Another benefit to the toxic spray is that it bypasses additional defenses on Spawnable Zombies such as screen doors, coffins, barrels, and outhouses, making short work of heavily defended zombies, similar to Fire Chomper. The Toxic Spray damage is ineffective against objects such as tombstones and teleporters. Spraying for 3.1s (Or 4.5s with the Overheat Upgrade) will result in overheating, and Toxic Chomper will be forced into a 2.71s cooldown, like the All-Star variants' primary weapons.

Spikeweed |
Laying Spikeweed traps is a great way to ambush Zombies. If they walk over the Spikeweed, they get ensnared and are easy to chomp. |
Spiky Spikeweed |
The Spiky Spikeweed deals more damage to Zombies it ensnares, but only a few can be deployed at a time. |
Chesterweed |
The Chesterweed attacks at an extremely fast speed, dealing up to 70 damage in 5 seconds. Chompers eating zombies trapped by the Chesterweed will swallow significantly faster, but the Chomper can only have two of them at a time, instead of three. It takes 60 seconds to recharge one Chesterweed. |

Unlocking[]
In Garden Warfare, to unlock this variant, you must reach rank 10 with the Chomper class. You need to complete challenges with the Chomper and any of his variants. A character piece is earned for each rank you level up, starting at level 6 to level 10. However, if you do not have Garden Warfare, you can unlock this Chomper by opening Fertilizer Fun Packs.
You will eventually unlock the five sticker pieces required to unlock this variant. If you did play Garden Warfare, the number of stickers needed will depend on the level you reached with the Chomper. If you reached level 8 with any Chomper, the number of stickers needed in Garden Warfare 2 would be 2.

Trivia[]
- So far as of now, he is the only character who can sometimes cause the Kill Feed to say ([player] Vanquished [player]) when he vanquishes an enemy with just his Toxic Spray, not by swallowing them, instead of it saying ([player] [Toxic Spray] [player]). This also happened with Engineer and Cactus vanquishing enemies with their drones, but the glitch was (for their part) patched in an update.
- However, the aforementioned Vanquish Feed error appears very rarely.
- Before, Fire Chomper could also do it. He and Toxic Chomper could do it almost anytime when vanquishing zombies with their primary weapon without swallowing them. However, when this happened, the primary weapon name did not appear under the tombstone text "WITH THE."
- His appearance has been redesigned in Garden Warfare 2. The rest of his body, mainly his stem, is now completely green, which makes a lot of sense.
- In the Trouble in Zombopolis: Part One DLC, he no longer gives off a toxic aura when burrowed.
- In GW2, Toxic Chomper is statistically nearly identical as the more popular Fire Chomper, with the only differences being their designs, elements and lack of Spikeweed Exploit.
