For the similar PvZ2 spinoff game, see Plants vs. Zombies 2: Guardian.
Plants vs. Zombies 2: Garden (Chinese name: 植物大战僵尸2:花园; pinyin: zhíwù dàzhàn jiāngshī 2: huāyuán) is a tower defense mini-program game on QQ, WeChat, Douyin, and Toutiao. It is a spin-off of Plants vs. Zombies 2. In order to play the game, one must have downloaded and have a registered account for one of the four apps.
Plants vs. Zombies 2: Garden plays similarly to Plants vs. Zombies 2: Guardian with a few differences. You have a 3x5 grid where you can place, move, and combine plants. You start out with four of these tiles unlocked and the rest can either be unlocked by leveling up, or buying them with coins and gems. There are three main evolution lines that you start out with, being Repeater, Iceberg Lettuce, and Squash. You can place multiple of the first plants in the three lines on your grid by buying them with coins. They can infinitely be bought as long as there is space on the grid, however the cost increases each time you buy one. This can also be upgraded so that you can buy stronger plants in the evolution line. Two of each plant can be merged into a stronger plant, which usually deals more damage, fires more projectiles, fires in multiple lanes, or slows zombies down. For example, the Single Target line can be combined into other pea plants including Threepeater and Pea Pod. You use your combined plants to fend off endless waves of zombies, with a boss zombies such as Zombie Yeti or Zombot Tomorrow-tron spawning at the end of certain waves. The zombies spawn at the top of your screen and approach towards the wooden fence in-front of your grid of plants. Once they reach the fence they start attacking it, and if they manage to destroy it, you get a game over and have to restart from wave 1. Every 20 levels, the background changes to another area's.
