Sheldon Shifter is a Next-Gen race car that competes in the Piston Cup Racing Series with the number 92 for Sputter Stop. He joined the Piston Cup in 2017, replacing Murray Clutchburn.

Cars 3[]
In Cars 3, Sheldon Shifter entered the Piston Cup Racing Series during the mid-season joining the Sputter Stop team as a replacement for the previous racer, Murray Clutchburn. In 2017 he participated in the Florida 500 race at the Florida International Super Speedway, during which he took part in the crash and spun out of control and drove towards the infield. He did not experience any serious damage and was able to continue to race. During the race hits a speed bump in the track causing him to trip.
Physical description[]
Shifter is a Next-Gen 2017 Race Car SA-3. He uses Lightyear racing tires. His eyes were blue. He had brown livery with turquoise and white squares scattered on his body. He had the number 92, colored white, on his sides and roof and had the logo of Sputter Stop on his back, spoiler and sides next to his number. He has a short spoiler like Tim Treadless and similar headlights as well.

- In the Cars 3 film, he has a brown spoiler, but on his 1:55 scale diecast toy model, the color of his spoiler is turquoise.
